Likes
- Infrastructure, faculty and campus life. All are amazing. The best thing is, very good atmosphere for research where one can explore whatever they want. Just the course work is quite hard and may cause night mare if someone don't attend classes.
- Overall social life is best here, there is ideation hut wjere one can chill in night too. Many clubs organize lot of competition, one can enjoy up to the maximum. I would rate the college life to be 10 out of 10, infrastructure and welld enveloped facilities make the life very simple here.
Dislikes
- There is nothing I think I dislike about its infrastructure. Just they can have the AC in students hostel room, that would I admire.
- For faculty, I think they are not much concern about teaching, they teach very good but they don't focus on students much, like everything on students. Ofcourse this is expected as they are prof. And also they are quite busy, so one always have to take appointment to visit them.
Remarks :
Written tests of JEE Advanced in 2020. These days, one can take an IAT. Before there were three ways to get into, including KVPY, but now there is no KVPY, so the only way to get into any of the IISERs is to give the IAT Exam, (IISER Admission Test). The IISERs provide very good environment sustainable for research, I do admire it a lot. The first thing to be clear is, that IISER is not for placements. They are for pure research. Getting into the college is quite difficult owing to the growing competition in India, but if one can score above 90 marks in IAT, I am sure he can get at least IISER Bhopal campus. Be positive since day 1 if you are interested in research. And patiently wait for the results of different round of counseling conducted by IISER. This happens a lot when people get the college in the very last round because many people leave this if they get something better. Even I got the college in round 3, and they gone up to round 6.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum in IISER is quite hard. The professors are highly educated, everyone has a doctorate, and some even have multiple postdocs. Almost every faculty teaches in the best possible way. But this is a really about the understanding of students, whether they can catch it or not. The exams and grading are completely dependent on faculties, some sets very hard exams and some are light. Generally policy is to have 2 Quizzes and one mid semester exam, and one final end sem exam. This is generally true for core compulsory courses, for the elective courses, the professor can choose whether to have exams or not, or any form of the way he likes to grade the students. There is a gee hike in college, initially, we had 37k fees, but that was increased to 51k, directly in our 3rd year, just after COVID. There is no financial assistance, but if you have some scholarship like INSPIRE, which is given based on board marks, then it's quite advantageous.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, the research internship. I have been an intern at IIT GANDHINAGAR, also, at Queenmary University London where ei visited in 2023. I was also the intern in ICP, University of Stuttgart in summers of 2023 through DAAD Fellowship. All are research internships, no companies. So students here apply for this research only, I don't think anyone gets a company internship or even they font apply.
Placement Experience :
There are actually no job opportunities almost, to be very honest. We do have a placement cell, which is actually highly inactive, and there is highly one or two placements for the single batch every year. They have a cap of company of around 9 lakhs, and no company actually comes here, almost negligible except TCS Research, which have placed one students of our batch, he is from engineering sciences. For general sciences, there are 0 placements. The students here are not even concerned about placements. These colleges are for pure research, so 90 percent of the students go for PhD from here. At least this is the case in Physics here. Job opportunities are ample if one can do a PhD, or after a master's, they can apply in some R and D department, maybe one can get one if they have good research experience, which is also less probable without a PhD. So the percentage of students placed in 2 out of 350. Both got 9-10 lakhs if I am sure. Rest almost all others go for PhD.
Campus Life :
The campus is very beautiful for Bhopal. a green campus filled with almost all facilities, like a gym, etc. We do have multiple extracurricular places like Brain Space where one can chill. CCD, Nescafe, and ICH have their franchise in our college. We have general stores, restaurants, Juice, bakery. The different clubs like Alankar, Mayur, etc for those interested in art, crafts, songs, dancing etc, offer a place to students to enjoy their talent. Almost all clubs have there web which one can find in the iiserb web. We have Enthuzia, cultural fest which is full of enjoyment, org. in March. We have Singularity fest, the biggest science fest of central India. They offers multiple talks and opportunities to interacts. Hostel have good facilities including paid washing machine, common AC Room and double occupancy setup for male students. But there are some problem in mess food, it depends on the mess contractor, they decrease the quality of food, and it's very difficult to eat such food.

The placement is quite quite good as year on years recently the placement was goes 57LPA to 75LPA and teh avg was 7-8LPA and median is 10LPA something. The college have 100% placement record every year and they also give grants and loans for students who wants to startup. But the internship support is zero like college are only focused on placement they are not foucing on internship.

I would like to say there are more job openings and internship programmes we had than a private college for both Graduates and Masters students. job openings in TCS/ banks and industries too. The thing is you need to put effort to grab a good opportunity. attain placements opening whenever you got notification from college groups. be prepared. ask your teacher to clear more doubts. However, I am the one who already had a job so I did not take from there because I was working in tech mahindra and its work from home in my favourate feild.

MBBS is concerned there is no issue with placement. As none of the doctors are jobless. And obviously placements are good one can work in well esteemed organization after just MBBS but more people prefer to opt PG course.
