- The things l like about this college include: Campus location: it's located slightly outside the city centre which is good because the campus is wide and open, very scenic and beautiful. College infrastructure: lots of construction work is ongoing here. A new auditorium and examination hall is being constructed and hostels and campus roads are being renovated as well.
- Cricket net. If you're a cricket player, there's a good news for you as right in front of hostels, there's a cement pitch cricket net where you can practice and campus also has Volleyball court and Table tennis facilities. Campus also, has a Gym named Arjun Gymkhana. An active research club is present in this college, named Curiosum. It conducts plenty of researches and also, holds Academic fests, workshops, seminars and many other socio-academic events
Dislikes
- Faculties: this is a countrywide issue, not just of this college or state. Even the elite colleges like KEM have similar issues that you cannot totally expect the professor to teach you everything in given span of time. It's physically impossible and to make matters worse, they just read PPT slides and go. Yes, if you're very willing, they'll cater to your doubts. Atleast in my College.
- Due to ongoing indradhanush redevelopment and development project. we as students faced lots of problem as water and electricity cuts for a day or 2. The roads were broken too. But now it's not an issue as most of the work is already been completed.
Remarks :
RCSM GMC Kolhapur & CPRH is what I sought for not what I settled for. I took the NEET UG examination in 2022 and got AIR 28,698 and SML of 1870 I got an EWS seat in the very first round itself and I retained this college in the first round of counselling and did not opt for an upgrade. I knew I wouldn't be able to make it to Mumbai and Pune colleges. My main reasons for choosing this college over GMC Miraj, Baramati, Nanded and Solapur were: 1. Ease of travelling from Mumbai:- All three ways of travel are possible; Buses, trains and flights. Buses are very frequent and don't take much time. 2. patient load at hospital: CPR hospital being an old civil hospital ensures a huge patient load presenting with a variety of cases making sure you get the best clinical exposure. 3. City Life and pleasant weather: Compared to other cities I mentioned, Kolhapur as a city has much more to offer. Also, the weather this extremely beautiful in Kolhapur, coming from Mumbai 4. Academics: same in all college
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose MBBS because I was always fascinated by medicine and biology. The curriculum consists of 19 subjects: In first year: Anatomy, biochemistry and physiology 2nd year: pharmacology, pathology, microbiology 3rd year(form 2022 batch onwards): Community medicine (PSM) and FMT Final year: ENT, ophthalmology, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and gynaecology, medicine, psychiatry, Dermatology, etc These are to be studied for 4.5 years and another 1 year of mandatory internship is required to be completed to get your practising degree. Internships at govt colleges are paid, and from 2024 onwards Internship stipend is raised from 11k to 18k for all colleges under MUHS. Internships in RCSM & CPRH are pretty intense and hectic, making sure you get plenty of hands-on experience. Academics: In MBBS, you mostly are your own and learn to study with your peers. Through lectures in this college are regularly conducted seldom do professors teach to teach It's not their fault as the syllabus is huge
Internships Opportunities :
Internship as I stated is mandatory to be a certified MBBS graduate and have your practising degree. In this college, RCSM GMC Kolhapur and CPR Hospital, an internship is a boon or nightmare according to your perspective. The patient load is heavy and you do get to learn a lot as you have to be constantly on your feet and ready to rush. Emergency duties are one of the best here. OBGY is hectic in CPRH. The best thing that happened this year was the hike up in the Internship stipend form. 11,000 to? 18,000 all over Maharashtra. This is a huge relief as we were underpaid as interns compared to the amount of work we had to do.
Placement Experience :
MBBS as such doesn't have college placements. You have a plethora of options after you're done with your course. You can either practice as an MBBS doctor, but no one does it these days. Prepare for NEET PG/INIcet and get into post-graduation courses such as MD/MS. INIcet is an exam for AIIMS and central universities. In Maharashtra, the Average monthly stipend you get working as a Junior resident after clearing NEET PG ranges between 60k to 80k depending upon college location and branch. So, you earn decent while still studying. Another popular option is to give Abroad examinations such as USMLE for tUSA PLAB for the UK, also AMC for Australia. Many people for this college have made it to the US and UK. It does cost hefty but ensures good earnings and lifestyle. Another option would be to Be a Medical officer or take civil services exams to be a government official looking after the healthcare sector. The field is very dynamic and ensures that you could never be jobless in this economy.
Campus Life :
I'll discuss campus life and hostel conditions under a single heading. Campus/hostel: So, first thing first, RCSM Kolhapur has a college campus and allied hospital at 2 different locations, set apart approximately 4kms. The boy's hostel is located on the College campus and the girl's hostel is located in/near the hospital premises. Condition of boys' hostel: It's another major reason why I chose this college over others. Hostel is not Aesthetically pleasing as such but it's kept clean. Daily cleaning of washrooms and floor is done. Rooms have 3 seats and have a unique approach to it making sure each student gets: a window, bed, table chair, fan, light, cupboard etc. amazing hostel facility. But, drinking water is a hassle here. Campus life is dull as it's only a boy's campus but has few amenities for sports and a gym. College Fest is amazing in this college and many cultural, sports and academic events are held here. Ganesh festival, Holi, Navratri everything is celebrated fest is fun here

Placement Offers were Good on Records till now Collage has its own Placement Department. The Placement Department is operated by professionals. It aims at providing placement to students in reputed companies with handsome packages around 80% placement was done in our batch. All the students got chance to prove themselves in campus placements. Companies like Amazon, TCS, IBM, Make my trip, Amazon, flipkart, Infosys, HDFC, ICICI etc. visit the campus offers an average package ranges 3 - 4.5 LPA going on to Highest was 28 - 45 LPA Companies conduct interview sessions, GD, test for selection of students.
The Time I Had Spent in my College

Placement was Good as there is a placement cell in the college that looks on managing placement for students by inviting Companies from different sectors Companies like Amazon Deloitte, Accenture, Reliance, HCL, Hyundai, HDFC bank, YES Bank, Axis bank etc. These companies make a number of offers to students offers an average package ranges 3 LPA and highest was 28 - 32 LPA. Companies conduct interview sessions, practical test, GD for selection of students and students needs to qualify all rounds to get selected also Internship opportunities was provided by college to give students practical experience and to give knowledge. Internship was also provided by college to give students practical experience and knowledge about current changing environment.

i chose computer engineering because i was interested in the technical field and wanted to build my career in engineering. the faculty were qualified and helpful, and their teaching was a mix of thoery ,ppts and practical. term exams were conducted on time and the difficulty was moderate

Placement Experience :
Placement opportunities are not so widely discussed by our faculty. My plan after the program is to appear for ugc net exam and to become an assistant professor. The minimum salary for assistance professor post is approx 35000.

The placements & job opportunities in the campus placements is good in our college like honestly it is good and also it is reason for students to take admission because there are many company coming to college. The average package is around i will say is 4.5lpa of all branches and here ENTC and MECHANICAL branch have more than 96% placement rate The highest package is of 22lpa which was from CS. The ground reality the percentage of students placed from this college is around 70% like the core branches students have higher placement rates and technincal branches placement rate is of around 70%-80% the core branches students also gets placed in tech. The main recruiters are TCS,ESDS,WIPRO,TECH MAHINDRA,INFOSYS,L&T and more. NVIDIA was also there but last year they banned the college because some students cheated in online interview.

I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track

The number of companies coming for campus placements go down with each passing year. The companies that do come (TresVista mostly) are quite poor in terms of work ethic and payout methods. This year, around 40-45 students from the graduating batch got campus placement out of the 110-120 that applied.

Psychology as a field is highly recognized and growing sector after the lockdown,people are more focused on mental health,thus bhavans was the best option as they have Psychology department set for almost 20years which makes them more experienced. The teaching method of Dr.kranti Gawali the hod is excellent.

Placement are very good there are multiple job opportunities provided in a college multiple companies also visit for the placement in second third year students also internship provided and multiple students get PPO from that internship so but in 2024 the internship and placement both ratio is little low or the highest placement gone till now is only 35 lakh per annum
