My cousin's sister who had graduated from Hansraj that very year told me about Sukhdev. Then I evaluated the placement reports, the infrastructure, and the online reviews available. I realised that a college instituted 30-35 years back gave hard competition to already established colleges in the university. Moreover, there was a unique aptitude exam process by the name of the Delhi University Joint Aptitude Test (DU-JAT) to filter out candidates for their distinctive courses. The college offered industrially inspired courses which are highly demanded in the industry. I prepared for the DUJAT exam through online mode. I followed several mentors to strategise my preparation for the entrance exam. The admission was done on merit as well as the score obtained in the DU-JAT exam. A weightage of 65% to the entrance exam and the remaining 35% to merit. I final score was obtained by combining the two and ranks were calculated accordingly.
The course curriculum and academics are highly talked about in and around the campus. The course I chose was Bachelor of Management Studies with a Marketing specialisation in my final year. The course was an unconventional course, unlike other traditional courses in the university. The faculty in my college were very skilled and educated professionals. They all had done their masters and diplomas from esteemed institutes and carried honourable titles. Exams were scheduled every 4-5 months and the question papers came from the university office itself. The level of question papers in exams was intermediate only. The cost of pursuing these programs wasn't that costly even for a middle-class household. The total tuition fee for my course did not exceed INR 40,000. Apart from this, there are several scholarships and financial assistance provided to needy students, though I couldn't avail of any such aid.
In my first year, I worked as a content creator for TBH Circle. The internship was for 2 months back in 2022. The internship was provided by the placement cell of my college only. TBH Circle is a youth skill development platform that enables young adults to gain practical knowledge from global experts making them job and industry-ready. I refined and executed social media campaigns by leveraging SEO and Google Analytics to improve brand awareness. The summer internship offered by the placement cell was in an ed-tech startup based in Gurgaon. I served as a business development associate there and tried to create potential clientele for the organization.
Placement and internships are what the majority of the students come to CBS for. Students are required to complete their summer internship after their second year to be eligible for the placement process. Students are also required to maintain a minimum CGPA to clear the cut-off for the placement process. Many esteemed organisations come to CBS for internship and placement opportunities like BCG, Bain & Company, Accenture, McKinsey & Company, LEK Group, Everest, Fischer Jordan, ABInBev, KPMG, Oxane Partners, Houlihan Lokey and many others. In the academic year 2022-34, 78 companies came to our college and extended more than 250 offers. The highest package offered amounted to INR 44.45 LPA. The average package amounted to an aggregate of INR 11.12 LPA. Approximately 80% of the students are offered consulting roles. 90% of the students are placed through the placement drives in our college. I am currently placed as a business analyst in a consulting firm.
Honestly, people in SSCBS are very academically inclined. There are more than 35+ societies in my college that are academic. Overall there are more than 50+ societies in my college. The other societies are culturally inclined or they serve other purposes. The annual cultural fest of our college is Crescendo which is usually held in April or May every year. The library of my college is one of the most prominent libraries in the whole of Delhi University. SSCBS is active in sports as well. Many students are admitted to college through sports quota. Apart from that, we have the annual football league and CBS cricket league. I was not in the hostel so I've very little idea about the hostel amenities. The canteen where the hostel students ate didn't serve some outstanding food. The quality of the food was very moderate but the hygiene and the seating facilities were adequate.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
