Remarks :

The college has a very amicable ambiance. It is one of the best colleges for Commerce in the South Campus of DU. Overall the college is good to join for both studies and fun. Until the academic year 2021, admission to colleges in the University of Delhi was merit-based. The cut-off was declared for all colleges post Class 12th Board results. After meeting the cut-off criteria, students had to apply to colleges for admission. The admission process was fully online and very seamless. There was no admission test, GD, personal interview round as such for admission during that time. Now the admission process has changed and it is not merit-based but depends on the CUET score conducted by NTA.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose Bachelor of Commerce as I have completed my Higher Secondary in Commerce stream. Having enrolled for the CA Course I was looking for a regular college having very lenient attendance policy and therefore chose SBSC. (Now the attendance criteria are very strict due to changes in administration). Faculties are very well-read, cooperative, and friendly. They design and implement different teaching methods including classroom lectures, group discussions, PowerPoint presentations, and worksheets. Exams are always held on time every 6 months. Fee hike is nominal every year and it is comparatively affordable to study in this college when compared to other colleges of the same brand value. College provides various scholarships to students which are both merit based and need based.

Internships Opportunities :

There are various internship opportunities available and offered to deserving students. The companies offering internships are mostly start-ups. I have personally not opted for internship because of time constraint to manage both the regular college and syllabus for CA course.

Placement Experience :

The Placement Cell of the college is very active and helps students in obtaining internships and job placement after college. The top industry recruiters like the Big 4s and other industries participate in placement drives and recruit candidates, offering them handsome packages. The average package is around 4-5 LPA. Since I am from a commerce background I have written this for for commerce domain only, I have no fair idea about other streams. Even after obtaining my degree I have to complete my Chartered Accountancy course before embarking on my professional journey.

Campus Life :

The various societies of college conduct their annual fests so there are multiple fests held in the college. The library has more than ten thousand books and there are multiple daily newspaper subscription and monthly and annual magazines. Classrooms are spacious and well-furnished. There is a big playground for cricket and football. There are separate courts for basketball and tennis. The Commerce Association, Meraki- The Literature Society, and multiple societies for art, music, dance, entrepreneurship, technology are active in the college and there are lot of Inter-College participations and competitions. There is a canteen in college for snacks and to satisfy food cravings while in the college. For the outstation students, there are multiple PGs, and hostels near the college campus. One need to enquire and make a little effort to get affordable accommodation and lodgings.

Gargi Colleg , Delhi university

Placement Experience :

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college

Placement Experience :

Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
