- The environment and friendly students - the university surrounds and has students from across the globe which makes it fun to interact and learn a lot.
- The people - everyone in the place is very kind and friendly
Dislikes
- Lack of hangout places - apart from a few places around I personally felt the city has fewer hangout spots
- The campus gets crowded at times which is not an everyday problem but sometimes it does. Most of the timings are similar in terms of college and hostel and foodcourt timings.
Remarks :
I joined MIC because I read really good reviews about the college and it turned out to be true. Since I was a COVID-19 batch student, we had our interview via calls and the criteria were good communication skills, confidence, knowledge about the subject, and also experience (if any). My overall experience was good at the college. The faculties are very knowledgeable in their field of study and are friendly, the environment is very calm and a good space to learn. I would highly recommend this course to someone interested in this field.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Manipal University has really good subjects and a course curriculum for their students in their particular departments. For the Institute of Communication, we had different subjects like reporting and writing, IMC, journalism-related subjects, and regular exams to keep us updated with the knowledge they provided. Apart from these the faculties also assign very helpful assignments. The faculties are friendly and very supportive. the college also has various events and activities which one should take advantage of to gain more skills.
Placement Experience :
I wanted to pursue higher studies (masters) hence I didn't sit for placements, but I heard from my friends that there were really good companies that come for placements with good packages and work culture. The overall placement is pretty good.
Campus Life :
The campus is very green and clean, everyone practices cleanliness, and is very spacious. It has sports like swimming, basketball court and so much more. The institute also has various clubs that one could be a part of based on their likings and polish their skills. Apart from these, I opted for a hostel, and the best decision it was to ensure safety and cleanliness and help services available, the hostel fee was around 2lakh per annum with food. The food was good with changing menus every day.

For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc,shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview

There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students

The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.

The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement

Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.

All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.

For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
