- The department has a compound of serene beauty in the heart of the Cochin city with a wide range of accessibility to the urban establishments.
- The main highlight is the the college faculties. They are very friendly and much helpful. They treat you with respect and are highly educated and well experienced.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of the college is average, as there are certain drawbacks when it comes to the maintenance of classrooms.
- The hostel Life is not so appreciable as the attitude and behaviour of the hostel wardens and the hostel incharge and few cleaning staff seems to get on your nerves. But in due course of time you'll eventually learn to ignore them.
Remarks :
I chose this course and career particularly to indulge in a more active job rather than being a desk professional. The idea about the course showed up during my one-year repeater course for an engineering career. I attended the Common Entrance Test conducted by the Indian Maritime University and secured an all-India rank in 2006. These test results should be attached to your application for enrollment in the Cochin University of Science and Technology. The necessary details for the admission procedure are provided on the website admissions cusat.ac.in. Once the application portal for various courses is open, you'll have to provide the necessary details of your admission test results, along with your 10th and 12th mark sheet and other required details. Speaking of the aspects of college, KMSME provides a good education and a very sound exposure to the maritime field with very experienced faculties and officials. The college is not so profound with cultural activities and other entertainment.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The college has highly knowledgeable and experienced faculties along with the provision of necessary study materials which you can rely on. Teaching methods are quite understandable. You'll get two internal exams in a semester and other periodic class tests. Regular assignments are provided which is an ideal way of securing internal marks. The semester fees vary upon odd and even semesters. On average, a state merit candidate should pay around 130000 in a semester which can go down upto 107000 in odd semesters. For all India merit candidates, the fee can go upto an average of 215000 in a semester. If you are eligible for any scholarships or financial assistance, the administrative section will help you with that.
Placement Experience :
The placements are secured once you clear all your papers and complete the course. In addition to that you can choose your desired company by writing external placement examinations and the necessary help and support will be provided by the college authorities. The major shipping companies recruiting from our campus are MOL, Synergy, Scorpio Marine Management, Carnival, Fleet Management, and other various companies. The highest package can go upto 200000 per month. The college presents 100 per cent placements for all the candidates who have completed the course.
Campus Life :
Don't get your hopes too high as the department does not entertain much of cultural backgrounds and other extracurricular activities. Students should find their way to cultural interests and other entertainments. College authorities won't be providing you with textbooks, as they are available in the library. Amenities in the classroom are not very efficient. The seats and tables are pathetically maintained. When it comes to the hostel, the hostel rules are very strict with punctuality and discipline. The mandatory physical training is a part of this career which is carried out by the hostel wardens. The approach of wardens towards the students is very disrespectful even though they are retired army officials. They seem to peep into your personal life and privacy which is very extremely irritating. They also unleash their grudge on you. The food quality is above average with traditional foods and friendly staff.

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (AI & ML) because of my interest in technology, programming, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The curriculum follows KTU regulations and covers both theory and practical subjects. Most faculty members are qualified . Internal exams and semester exams are conducted on time. The difficulty level is moderate to a lil bit high and students who attend classes regularly can perform well.
