Birsa Agricultural University is the only state-run university in Jharkhand. It was established in the 1980s. Since the university is very old you will find most of the facilities available there. For the admission procedure, you need to secure a good rank in the JCECEB exam which is conducted every year between May to June. After qualifying for the exam and securing a good rank, you need to give the preferences of college you need as 12 colleges come under Birsa Agricultural University. Then according to your rank and preference, college is allotted to you. The exam syllabus is 11 and 12 PCM/PCB.
After taking Biology in 11th grade, if you don't want to go into the medical stream then Agriculture is a good option to pursue. Professors are very good here. All are professors cum scientists. In a semester 2 theory and 1 practical exams are held. Fees are very low as being a government university. Per semester fees are around 3500. You can avail E-kalyan scholarship also if you come from the reserve category.
Milk companies like Sudha and Medha offer internship opportunities. Many NGOs like Pradaan and FPC offer internship opportunities. Grant Thornton Bharat, a consultancy service firm also provides internship opportunities. They usually don't provide in stipend. In some cases, up to 5000 a month. The basic role of this company is to prepare crop documents and give crop advice to farmers.
Every year small companies and NGO's come for placement. Banks like IDBI also come for placement with a decent package of 5 to 6 lakhs per annum though they hire very few students (4 to 6). Placement is not too good in this college. Most students prefer higher studies like M.Sc or MBA.
Campus life is very enjoyable. Starting every year around January-February a Kisan Mela is held for 3 days. Varieties of crops and new agriculture and technology are shown there. Sports events like Basketball, Cricket, Football and Volleyball are held every year. You can participate in university-level tournaments also. The library facility is also here. All types of books related to Agriculture and allied courses is available here in the library.
After taking admission in this university, everyone is allotted their hostel rooms. Girls and boys hostels are separate locations. You will be allotted your hostel room at the time of admission or few days later. Hostel fees is 1000 per semester which is already included in semester fees. Private mess facility is available in hostel which charges around 3000 per month.

Placements are the main reason people come here. For Electrical, big players like Tata Steel, JSW, and Vedanta are regulars. The average package stays around ?7–8 LPA, while the highest can go up to ?15–20 LPA for core branches. You become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. I’m planning to sit for GATE as well, as many seniors here aim for PSUs. For internships, the college helps with vocational training in places like DVC or HURL, though paid internships are something you usually have to hunt for yourself on LinkedIn.
You have to at least maintain 7CGA for sitting in placement season company like Wipro Infosys come here placement season. Average package of BBA is 4.5 lakhs. Almost 80% Student are placed through campus placement. My plan after getting degree pursuing MBA
College give only about 30% placement and there is very few companies or hospitals which are visited to the college for the employees. You have to do it with yourself when you are go to the internship. The highest and average package as I see is about 30,000 per month and maximum to 50,000 per month And I saw that student who top is maximum getting chance for the placement which is rare .
You have to not active backlog in any subject. 8+ cgpa perefer first then below 8+. Eternal achievers, infinite solution, paul tech like local jamshedpur it company visit for placement. 80% students placed from our university. I will look for higher education.
I don't have any specific information about placements because I am still studying, but some seniors have got jobs which tells me that everything is fine. There are some seniors who work in Tata Motors and DRDO with good payments.
The intern is provided for training in nearby schools in 3rd semester. It is unpaid internship basically done under the curriculum.It is compulsory for the students to complete this teacher's training to get the B.ed degree. There is no such placement opportunities You have to go off campus to get placed in any school.
There is no campus placement in this college, so we have to plan our own jobs or internships after completing the course. Eligibility criteria for jobs depends on companies, mostly they ask for basic knowledge and skills related to the course. Some students do internships on their own in local companies or online. Since there is no official placement, there are no recruiters, packages or offers from college. Around 0% students get placement from college itself. My plan after degree is to prepare for government jobs and also apply for some private jobs related to my field. Overall, college is good for learning, but for placements you have to work on your own
"Placements in my college are slowly improving but still not at the level of top engineering colleges. Some companies visit every year but the number of offers is limited. Students who have good skills and prepare on their own get opportunities easily. The eligibility for sitting in placements is usually 6.0 CGPA and no major backlogs. Recruiters like small IT companies, training firms and a few core-related companies have visited. The highest package was around 6–7 LPA and the average stays near 3 LPA depending on the branch. Around 25–35% students get placed from campus and others go for off-campus drives. Internships are mostly arranged by students themselves through online platforms. After completing my degree, I plan to prepare for off-campus jobs and also improve my technical skills to get a better job in company or in government job
Placements are mediocre in my branch ece. Last year 60-70 percent students are placed. Average package is 13lpa approx and highest in my branch was 58lpa. Core companies like NXP come for placement. Tech companies like foipkart, meesho, visa, goldman sachs come for placement.
