- Curriculum, Faculty to student ratio and library are some of the positives of the University
- Internships opportunities and high alumni network of the University.
Dislikes
- Campus Life here is very poor. No canteen is present are some negative points.
- Lack of hostel for all students causing students to take rented rooms and pg which are generally quite expensive.
Remarks :
It is one of the best institutes for Msc geology in the mineral-rich state of Jharkhand after ISM Dhanbad. If anybody who did not get IIT ISM for the course may opt for this. The department is almost 60 years old and it has two museums which is one of its kind. Generally, RU takes admissions through the chancellor portal and the selection of the students was totally merit based on their scores in their Bachelor. But in my case, I got admission through my score in CUET PG Exam. My name was at the top of the list.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum of the subject is based on the guidelines given by the UGC. The syllabus made by the faculty is equally good covering every aspect of the course and even helping for the preparation of other competitive exams like GATE and CSIR NET. The faculty here is good though not friendly enough but they teach very well most of the professors are PhD holders. Exams and sessions here are generally late like other state universities. There are scholarships provided to the backward classes but I don't get any.
Internships Opportunities :
As it is my first here at this university I haven't been to any internship but I have been to many seminars and workshops organized by the department. Talking to the seniors they informed me that Companies like CIL, and ONGC do take students for internships in the final year of the course.
Placement Experience :
Generally in the blocks of science, Social sciences, and Humanities, the placement ratio is nil. But courses like MBA have good campus placement rates and have an average package of 7-8 lakhs per annum. Coming to my course it is more sort of a research-based field where you get a job after clearing competitive exams like GATE, CSIR NET, and GSI. There are also private companies like Vedanta, TATA Group, and Reliance that hire geologists at good annual packages
Campus Life :
Campus Life here at RU Sucks! It more often feels like a 9-5 job for students where attendance is compulsory and there are marks given based on the attendance of the student. RU has 2-3 annual fests during March and October There are several workshops and seminars organized too for the students to enhance their knowledge of the subjects. Coming to the infrastructure RU has all basic facilities for the students like Wifi, RO water, auditorium, parking, Libraries for respective departments, digital classrooms, etc. The library of my department is good and has over 4000 books and journals. There is also a central library open to all for exam preparations. There are several parks around the campus to spend leisure time there. There are sports meetings organised by the University but facilities for sports and encouragement are not there. There is a special NSS program organized by the University to help needy and poor people.
Hostel Facilities :
There are hostels in RU but they are only provided to students of ST and SC categories. And the condition of the hostels is very poor. University does not have a canteen or a mess now but it was there before. There are a lot of private hostels, lodges, and PGs near and around the campus with mess facilities but are way too expensive. Instead of that, It's my advice to find rented rooms in an area called "INDRAPURI COLONY " and " Lalpur which are quite affordable and not in the adjoining areas like Morabadi. The students should cook themselves and not hire a mess as it will be quite cheap and the quality of the food provided at most of the mess is not good.

Placements are the main reason people come here. For Electrical, big players like Tata Steel, JSW, and Vedanta are regulars. The average package stays around ?7–8 LPA, while the highest can go up to ?15–20 LPA for core branches. You become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. I’m planning to sit for GATE as well, as many seniors here aim for PSUs. For internships, the college helps with vocational training in places like DVC or HURL, though paid internships are something you usually have to hunt for yourself on LinkedIn.
Average University in Jamshedpur in low fee
Placement Experience :
You have to at least maintain 7CGA for sitting in placement season company like Wipro Infosys come here placement season. Average package of BBA is 4.5 lakhs. Almost 80% Student are placed through campus placement. My plan after getting degree pursuing MBA
My Dream College

College give only about 30% placement and there is very few companies or hospitals which are visited to the college for the employees. You have to do it with yourself when you are go to the internship. The highest and average package as I see is about 30,000 per month and maximum to 50,000 per month And I saw that student who top is maximum getting chance for the placement which is rare .
Netaji Subhas University is best for engineering in low fee and for who is already doing job

You have to not active backlog in any subject. 8+ cgpa perefer first then below 8+. Eternal achievers, infinite solution, paul tech like local jamshedpur it company visit for placement. 80% students placed from our university. I will look for higher education.

I don't have any specific information about placements because I am still studying, but some seniors have got jobs which tells me that everything is fine. There are some seniors who work in Tata Motors and DRDO with good payments.

The intern is provided for training in nearby schools in 3rd semester. It is unpaid internship basically done under the curriculum.It is compulsory for the students to complete this teacher's training to get the B.ed degree. There is no such placement opportunities You have to go off campus to get placed in any school.

There is no campus placement in this college, so we have to plan our own jobs or internships after completing the course. Eligibility criteria for jobs depends on companies, mostly they ask for basic knowledge and skills related to the course. Some students do internships on their own in local companies or online. Since there is no official placement, there are no recruiters, packages or offers from college. Around 0% students get placement from college itself. My plan after degree is to prepare for government jobs and also apply for some private jobs related to my field. Overall, college is good for learning, but for placements you have to work on your own

"Placements in my college are slowly improving but still not at the level of top engineering colleges. Some companies visit every year but the number of offers is limited. Students who have good skills and prepare on their own get opportunities easily. The eligibility for sitting in placements is usually 6.0 CGPA and no major backlogs. Recruiters like small IT companies, training firms and a few core-related companies have visited. The highest package was around 6–7 LPA and the average stays near 3 LPA depending on the branch. Around 25–35% students get placed from campus and others go for off-campus drives. Internships are mostly arranged by students themselves through online platforms. After completing my degree, I plan to prepare for off-campus jobs and also improve my technical skills to get a better job in company or in government job
Expensive college with mediocre placements
Placement Experience :
Placements are mediocre in my branch ece. Last year 60-70 percent students are placed. Average package is 13lpa approx and highest in my branch was 58lpa. Core companies like NXP come for placement. Tech companies like foipkart, meesho, visa, goldman sachs come for placement.
