RV College of Engineering is one of the best colleges in Karnataka and is ranked equivalent to NITs. The quality of education here is really good and the syllabus is well designed. The admission can be done, either via the management quota or by writing the state of entrance exam, PGCET, that is conducted by the Karnataka Govt.
I have always been interested in coding and technology, hence I wanted a technical course. Therefore after completing my Undergraduation in Computer Science and Mathematics, I choose to do MCA, which I believe will enhance my technical skills.
I did an internship at PhonePe, as a Site Reliability Engineer Intern, during which we learnt about Linux, networking tools, etc. Later we were allotted projects, which we had to complete in a stipulated time frame. The project included the use of Python and React TS.
The campus placements offered are great. There are many notable companies like Oracle, PhonePe, Texas Instruments, etc, coming for the placements. The average CTC, of our department of MCA is 7-8 lpa, and most of the students do get placed.
The year-wise fee for a student, securing a seat through the PGCET examination is 1,40,040 per year. For the SC/ST, the fees will vary. But, if seeking admission through the management quota, the fee will range from 3.5 -4.5 lakh per year.
Some various fests and events keep happening on the campus. One of the most prominent among all is 8th Mile, which is conducted around Oct-Dec (might Vary), where numerous artists perform, and various college bands also deliver their performances. There is a huge library, where in you can find all the needed books and it also provides a peaceful environment to study.
The canteen food is good and affordable. There are 3 canteens inside the campus, apart from the hostel mess. I had taken a girl's PG near to the college. The PGs over there are pretty affordable and clean, with all the students around. It is at a walkable distance of 1.3km from the college and can be converted in a 10-15 mins walk.
For our degree program we have well placement opportunities other than bsc agriculture and btech biotechnology. For our college only company will come like itc, shula wine, Nestle etc and they offer good package minimum around 4lakh and some have aptitude test and interview some direct interview
There are top rated faculties which are present in the college who have pursued MBBS and MD degrees from top colleges and have for an exam to become a professor in this college and the teaching skills are pretty great as they make a topic pretty easy to understand for students
The placement and job opportunities are good in our college. Our college provides us only with UG Courses so most of the students pursue higher education after that. The placements are good in our college. If I talk about internships so they are very good. Our college provides both paid and unpaid internships to students.
the average package is 6 lpa and highest is 14 lpa and there is a placement cell that helps students to get placed. the placement rate of our college is 90%. and the companies come to our college is tcs, tech mahindra, infotech, zelethra, wipro etc.

The criteria is the cgpa should be above 7 and the companies visited are wipro, flipkart, amazon etc. the highest package is 48 lakh per annum and lowest pacuis 3 lakh per annum and the average is 6 lakh per annum
The placement of the college is excellent in the cse stream it has an average package of 9 lakh per annum and highest package of 38 lakh per annum it is a good salary or package for an engineer so it is good placement
Faculties are well qualified and some of them are doing active research. However the college does not have a very active research environment but they do not hinder a student from taking up projects outside. They provide all support like recommendations, attendance permissions etc.
All the faculties are well qualified and quite renowned in their research fields. However some of them have this quality of holding personal grudge and targeting. Some assume you know a lot and don't teach properly and expect more from the student. There is a lot of pressure even with internals, assignments and other things.
For placement, The student shouldnt have any backlogs. There are companies that are stated as "Great Places to Work" as well as some startups that come for college recruitment. The highest package last year (2023) was 6000000, and the average package of the university is approximately 850000. A good percentage of people who opt for placements do get placed decntly. My plans after my BBA are writing GMAT and going for my MBA abroad in a good college.
