I got alot if recommendations from family because it is a well known college and its has a legacy of over 100 years with well educated professors and they encourage you to apply for different reserch paper contest and overall they do guide you for the path you want to take. The cut off for general/open/obc is like 92% and higher whereas for st it is 70-80%
The college definitely provides a good curriculum like its not too difficult but not easy as it seems the staff is understanding and a very through and punctuate with their work so they dont like late assignments but over all they are helpful with doubts and queries.
I worked with a retired mahindra worker who had intrest in studying life cycle of butterflies, their habitat and host plant , we were 4 students which were selected based on our knowledge of feild work and enthusiasm in working with insects , we went on hikes and visites areas with high butterflies population once a week from September to December because that is peak butterfly season.
The college does has a placement cell but for bsc most of the people opt for outside jobs, but the professors do help you finding your feild of interest and help you get a job you like. So for fy you have to pay 3000 + exam fees that are 900 if you have scholarship you only pay 1700 and SY you have to pay 5000 but with scholarships its 2500 with exam fees and in TY you have to pay 6000 including exam fees but with scholarships its just 3000 so yea its better to take scholarships or apply for freeship.
The college is divided in buildings for different departments, each department has their own floor, as long as you participate in activities like NSS, dramas and sports you will know everyone at the campus because it is quite small and people are friendly. The college has 2 libraries and you can issue them anytime plus you have an ancient texts library with a nice cosy section. Most of the classrooms has projectors and white boards few has a smart board as well. The college has a huge ground where you can practice anytime you want and they do provide you with equipments as well that you can issue . The college hosts annual day but also has clubs like poetry and drama clubs .
I did not opt for hostel but according to my information the fees is 8000 per month and you get 2 times food for that much plus its a sharing room for 3 people with a curfew of 8:30 the food isnt as bad and they do deliver you lunch boxes in college . Youll have to pay the hostel fees with admissions only but for the same price you can find a good pg right beside the campus with the same amenities but just a bit cleaner and maybe good conditions
I haven't reached my placement stage yet but from what I have seen the college doesn't wait until the final year to start preparing students. We have coding sessions, skills building workshops and career guidance from the beginning. Seniors also share their experiences which gives us a better idea of what to expect. I feel the college is helping us build the right foundation for internships and placements. At the same time, I think getting a good job also depends on how much effort we put into improving our own skills. So far I feel I am on the right track
no placement data is present now but many of students are working on their own projects and few are cracked the internships and now currently serving their period on the companies and it's really great opportunities.
The college does have a placement cell. It provides some in campus placements . Rarely 2% students get in campus placements. Rest have to find jobs pn their own. You wi have to do alot of interships and gain practical skills to be placed
