BITS Life - Should I go there?

Remarks :
The brand name of bits is a very big factor in why I chose it. Apart from that, the on-campus placement cycle is good. If placed, the ctc for a person in most of the companies lies near 30,00,000 range and the in-hand pice lies in the range of 15-20 lakhs, which is very very good in comparison with other colleges. Although the fee structure is quite high in comparison, it feels worth it as the quality of education and environment inside the campus is quite good and above average. The exam structure is standard. There are regular quizzes or assignments for different courses throughout the semester along with mid-semester and comprehensive examinations. The grading system, however, is not very good. However, the companies know about the strict nature of grading, thus the cutoffs are set accordingly. There is also a compulsory course PS which means we have to do an internship at an allotted placed for a specific period to gain hands-on experience.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the electronics and instrumentation course as this field had my interest since I was preparing for jee. Not only that but the placement record for this branch is good as well. Although it is considered a lower stream when compared to EEE or ECE, it yields almost the same result, although it depends more on person to person. The faculty for ENI is good as well. They are friendly and help us understand the course in a really good manner. They provide us with PPTs, lecture slides, video recordings, past year solutions, and even laboratory experiments for better understanding.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, i did internship in Arbunize Digital Media as a backend developer. However the internship was part of the course, so no stipend was given to us. But, we did learn a lot of experience and other things during the internship.
Placement Experience :
The placement record for bits is excepetionally good. During the semester when on campus placements were going on, really good campanies with very good ctc approached bits and selected good amount of students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yearly, approx 650000 is paid by each student whic includes tution , hostel, mess and other advances in it. In bits, theres no such reservation for any category, however, there is merit cum need scholorship of people whose income is less than a threshold and the student manages to obtain a certain cgpa.
Campus Life :
The campus life at bits is really amazing. We are given a lot of options of eateries including nestle cofee, amul ice creams, normal restraunts and many more. The campus also has a very large area thus is is extreamly good for walks, cycling, hanging with friendts etc.
Hostel Facilities :
There are multiple hostels in campus for both booys and girls seperately. Overall the hostels are really good with free wifi, good water supply, cleaan rooms etc. There are 2 mess for all the students at campus with good food quality.

Students who maintain a good academic record and possess strong technical and communication skills have better chances of getting placed. Generally, students with no active backlogs and a minimum academic percentage as specified by the recruiting company are eligible to participate in campus placements. A few recruiters visit the college for hiring, mainly for entry-level roles in software, IT support, and core engineering domains. However, the number of offers is limited, and only around 40–50% of students secure campus placements. The average salary package offered ranges from ?3–4 LPA, while the highest package varies depending on the company and the student's performance. The college also encourages students to apply for paid internships, which help them gain practical industry experience and improve their technical skills

I am still in my second year, so I havent sat for placements yet. But the college starts preparing us early with coding practice, projects, aptitude training, resume building sessions, and mock interviews. FRom interacting with seniors, I have heard that students who stay consistent with their skills get good opportunities

From what I have experienced the college starts preparing us for placements much earlier than I expected. We regularly have coding practice, project work, resume reviews, aptitude sessions and mock interviews, so you are improving little by little instead of waiting for the final year. The college also shares internship and job opportunities with students. I feel the support is definitely there but your results depend on how much effort you put into building your skills.

As a current student I haven't reached the final placement season yet but the college has already started preparing us. We get regular updates about internship opportunities, and many students apply from the early semester itself. Along with that there are sessions on resume writing, aptitude, communication skills and interview preparation. The college also encourages us to build projects and improve our technical skills, which helps while applying for internships. I feel these small efforts throughout the course will make a big difference when placements begun.
