MANUU Courses, Eligibility and Fees

Eight academic Schools and the Directorate of Distance Education deliver MANUU's courses. Students can study Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Law, Commerce, Education, Journalism and vocational subjects. UG and PG charges are among India's lower university fee structures, including those for technical and professional study at central universities.

Shorter certificate and diploma options cover Arabic, Persian, Urdu, French, Russian, Turkish and Interior Design. Their fees range from INR 1,250 to INR 4,800. Language learners and working professionals from across India join these low-cost programmes.

MANUU Admission Routes and Application Steps

Regular campus admissions mainly follow two routes: CUET scores for four-year UG courses, and university entrance tests or qualifying-examination merit for other courses. Most programmes require students to know Urdu. Applicants who have not studied the language can develop the required skills through MANUU's certificate course. The general UG requirement is 50% in Class 12, reduced to 45% for reserved categories; individual course conditions also apply.

CUET Entry to Four-Year Undergraduate Courses

BA {Hons.}, B.Sc {Hons.} and B.Com {Hons.} with Research run for 4 years under the NEB+1 structure. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Common University Entrance Test, known as CUET. Applicants first register on its portal and take the national examination. MANUU then uses CUET scores in its centralised merit process to allot seats.

University Entrance Test for Other Campus Courses

The MANUU Entrance Test is used for B.Tech, BALLB, LLB, MBA, M.Tech, MCA, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MSW, LLM, M.Ed and MA (JMC) admissions. Students apply through the university's online portal. Along with questions on the chosen subject, the test checks Urdu comprehension. Applicants can view results and merit lists on MANUU's website.

NCET Route for Integrated Teacher Education

For integrated BA+B.Ed and B.Sc+B.Ed courses, selection uses the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), which NTA conducts. Applicants need 50% in Class 12.

Applying for Distance Courses

BA, B.Com and several postgraduate courses are available through the Directorate of Distance Education. Selection in ODL mode depends on qualifying-examination marks. Students receive both printed and digital learning resources, while regional study centres across India serve as examination locations.

MANUU Placements and Career Options

At the Hyderabad main campus, the Career Guidance and Placement Cell helps students prepare for work through counselling, soft skills sessions and internship support. It also arranges recruitment drives with industry partners. B.Tech, MCA, M.Tech, MBA and M.Sc in Computer Science see the most placement activity.

Campus hiring is modest compared with larger central technical universities. MANUU's main academic focus remains arts, humanities and education through Urdu. Engineering and management graduates have joined employers in IT services, aviation and the public sector. Humanities and law graduates also choose government service, further study such as LLM or Ph.D, and competitive examinations including UPSC, state PSC and judiciary examinations.

Engineering and management students benefit from Hyderabad's concentration of IT employers and public-sector organisations. For students based near Lucknow and Budgam, the satellite campuses offer access to MANUU courses closer to home.

MANUU Rankings

NIRF lists MANUU in its Overall and Engineering categories. Established in 1998, the university's position is linked to its developing research output and performance in teaching and learning.

The Overall band places MANUU in the middle range among central universities as its research activity grows. Its Engineering position relates to the School of Technology's B.Tech and M.Tech courses. The university does not currently participate in the QS or THE international rankings.

MANUU Campus Facilities and Student Life

MANUU's 200-acre Gachibowli campus sits within Hyderabad's IT and financial services hub. This location puts engineering and management students near major employers in the city's technology corridor.

Students have access to separate men's and women's hostels, computer laboratories and the Saiyid Hamid Library, which provides physical resources and online databases. Urdu and foreign-language courses use language labs. Science students have research laboratories, while B.Tech and M.Tech students use an engineering block. Everyday facilities include a medical centre, cafeteria, campus-wide Wi-Fi and the iUMS student portal for academic and administrative services. Cricket, football and basketball grounds are available alongside indoor sports facilities.

Department research centres operate within the eight academic Schools. Postdoctoral work is active in Urdu literature, Islamic studies, languages and pure sciences. The Lucknow campus in Uttar Pradesh and Budgam campus in Jammu and Kashmir serve areas with large Urdu-speaking populations in northern India and the Kashmir Valley.

MANUU Scholarships and Fellowships

Eligible MANUU students can access central government scholarships, SC/ST and minority support, and UGC research fellowships. These schemes particularly help students from Urdu-speaking, minority, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.

Men and women pay INR 8,600 per semester for MANUU hostel accommodation. This provides a low-cost campus living option for students from other locations. Students taking courses through the ODL directorate cannot use campus hostels.
