Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU) is a state university located in Tirupati, Chitoor district in Andhra Pradesh, India, established by the State Government with a vision to bolster education, research, and outreach initiatives in the fields of veterinary, dairy, and fisheries sciences. 

  • The University offers UG and PG programmes in three faculties, i.e., Veterinary Science, Dairy Science, and Fishery Sciences, while its PhD programme is offered only in Veterinary Science.

SVVU Admission

SVVU offers admission into all bachelor's programmes based on AP EAMCET score. Admission to M.F.Sc. and M.Tech will be based on marks in B.F.Sc/B.Tech(Dairy), which will account for 30% of the overall weightage, and performance in the PG Entrance test, which will account for 70% of the total weightage.

PhD Admission will be based on the performance in the admission exam, master's degree, bachelor's degree, and interview in the following order: 50:20:10:20.

Admission to the diploma programme is based on the grades in the 10th class.

Merit-Based scholarship

The two cash awards given on that basis are the following: 

  1. Late Kocherlakota Venkata Lakshmi Memorial Cash Prize: Under this award, a cash prize of Rs. 7000 is up for grabs for the best performing girl student having the highest GPA in Poultry Science subject in B.V.Sc & AH at College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati without registering absent or fail grade. A cash prize is also given to the girl student for best performance in the annual theory and practical of LPM Livestock Production Management (Paper-II) marks LPM paper. 
  2. Dr. B.V.Raghavendra Rao Merit Scholarship - A student in the seventh semester securing the Highest OGPA up to the 6th semester without an Absent or Fail grade at the university level is awarded Rs.10,000 following this scholarship 
  3. National Talent Scholarship – An amount of Rs. 1000 is awarded to undergraduate students admitted by the VCI or through the ICAR quota every year.

Needs Based scholarship 

AP Government Scholarship: The State Government provides a scholarship of Rs. 962 per month to the Backward Class and Rs. 1200 per month to the SC and ST students, besides reimbursing tuition and special fees to all eligible students, including the backward and minority students.
