Veterinary College Bangalore, originally known as the Mysore Serum Institute, was established on July 25, 1958. Affiliated with Karnataka Veterinary, Animal, and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU), the college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across various veterinary science disciplines. In 2021, it was ranked 5th among India's top veterinary colleges by NIRF.

Veterinary College offers a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) at the undergraduate level. To be eligible, candidates must have achieved at least 50% marks in their 10+2 with subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Admission selection is based on either the KCET or NEET-UG exam scores. For 2024, the KCET cutoff for general category students was 495, while the NEET UG cutoff was 51,593. The total course fee is INR 3.49 lakhs.

Veterinary College offers a Master’s in Veterinary Science (MVSc) for candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary, Dairy, or Fisheries Science from a recognized institution with a minimum CGPA of 6 out of 10. Admission to the MVSc program is based on entrance exams conducted by the KVAFSU. Final selection is completed through the VCI Counseling. The course fee for the MVSc program is INR 97.38k.

Veterinary College also offers a PhD program. Eligible candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject with a minimum OGPA of 6.50 out of 10 (or equivalent marks) from a recognized institution. Selection for the PhD program is based on the KVAFSU entrance exam or qualifying scores from national exams such as UGC-NET, JRF, or SET.
