Dr. C.V. Raman University Courses and Fees

CVRU runs UG, PG, diploma, and doctoral programmes through 8 faculties. Total programme fees begin at INR 30,000 for the 3-year BA and go up to INR 2.88 Lakhs for the 4-year B.Pharm. The table gives the fee for the complete course duration.

Diploma in Engineering is offered in Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, and Mechanical, with total fees of INR 84,750 for 3 years. These diploma courses also give students a lateral entry route into BE. B.Ed has a 2-year fee of INR 60,500, and the 5-year BA LLB and B.Com LLB courses each cost INR 1.60 Lakhs.

Dr. C.V. Raman University Admission Process

CVRU conducts admissions online through cvru.ac.in. Students are selected through qualifying exam marks or accepted entrance exam scores. After selection, they complete document verification and pay the fee. Engineering, science, and commerce programmes do not have group discussion or interview rounds.

The major exams accepted for different programme groups are JEE Main, CG PET, NEET UG, CAT, MAT, CMAT, CUET UG, CLAT, CG B.Ed Entrance Test, GATE, UGC NET, and CVRU entrance tests, depending on the course.

BE (Engineering) Admission

BE is the main technical course at CVRU. Students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The minimum required PCM score is 45% marks for General category students and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC students. Admission is given through JEE Main or CG PET, the Chhattisgarh Pre Engineering Test.

B.Pharm and Pharmacy Programmes

For B.Pharm, students must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics or Biology, along with at least 45% marks. Selection is based on NEET UG or Class 12 merit. D.Pharm uses the same 10+2 PCM or PCB eligibility. For M.Pharm, applicants need a B.Pharm degree and either a valid GPAT score or CVRU entrance test performance.

MBA Admission

MBA applicants need a graduation degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. CVRU accepts CAT, MAT, and CMAT. Students who do not have one of these management entrance scores can apply through the CVRU admission entrance test. The university does not conduct GD/PI for MBA admission. Specialisations include general management, finance, marketing, and human resources.

Law Programmes

LLB is a 3-year course for graduates from any stream. BA LLB and B.Com LLB are 5-year integrated courses for students who have completed 10+2 in any stream. Admission is available through CLAT scores or merit in the qualifying exam. LLM needs an LLB degree with 50% marks and follows Bar Council of India norms.

B.Ed and Education Programmes

B.Ed admission is based on the CG B.Ed entrance test, also called CG PPT-B.Ed, conducted by CGVYAPAM. Graduation with at least 50% marks is required. M.Ed applicants must have a B.Ed degree with 55% marks and entrance test performance.

Science, Commerce, and Arts UG/PG Programmes

Admission to B.Sc, B.Com, BA, BCA, and BBA is based on Class 12 merit or CUET UG scores. No separate entrance test is needed for these courses. PG courses such as M.Sc, M.Com, MA, and MCA require a relevant UG degree from a recognised university. Applications for these programmes are made through the CVRU portal.

CVRU placements are strongest in Engineering and Pharmacy. NIRF 2026 data shows a UG median salary of INR 3.50 LPA. The university reports that 450+ companies join its annual placement drives across IT, manufacturing, pharma, banking, and retail.

Among engineering branches, BE CSE and ECE usually show better placement results. Pharmacy students get roles in pharmaceutical companies, hospital chains, and retail pharmacy networks in Chhattisgarh and central India. MBA students are placed in BFSI, FMCG, consulting, and other regional roles.

Dr. C.V. Raman University Campus and Infrastructure

CVRU is spread across 70 acres at Kargi Road, Kota, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. The campus has a central digital library, smart classrooms, Wi-Fi computer labs, engineering and pharmacy labs, a gymnasium, floodlit sports fields, an auditorium, and a health centre. Raman 90.4 FM, the university's community radio station, is used for student media training and community outreach.

Girls can stay in hostel accommodation on campus, while boys' hostel facilities are available nearby. Other facilities include a cafeteria, guest house, herbal garden, and bus service between the campus and Bilaspur city.

The university also has a separate pharmacy research lab for M.Pharm and Ph.D. students. Its rural technology centre supports applied research in agriculture and regional development. Academic blocks and residential areas are placed close to each other on the campus.
