Qualifications Accepted for MBBS

Applicants must meet one of the following academic routes:

  1. Complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology, including practical tests in these subjects. The subjects must also include Mathematics or another elective and English at a level at least equal to the core English course.
  2. Pass a B.Sc. examination from an Indian university with at least two subjects from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, including Botany and Zoology, or Biotechnology. The earlier qualifying examination must also have included Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  3. Pass another examination accepted as equivalent in scope and standard to an Indian university or board's Intermediate Science Examination. The final 2 years of study must cover Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology, with practical tests in each, as well as English.

How MBBS Seats Are Allotted

After qualifying NEET UG, applicants take part in counselling conducted by DME, Himachal Pradesh. The State Quota accounts for 25% of the intake through DME counselling, while the 75% Management Quota is filled through institute-level counselling.

Admission to State Quota, Management Quota and NRI seats follows all-India NEET UG merit through the Centralized Counselling Committee formed by the Himachal Pradesh government. The committee is chaired by DMER, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla.

B.Sc., BPT and B.Sc. Nursing Admission

General UG Eligibility and Merit Selection

MMU prepares admissions to its merit-based UG courses using marks in the qualifying examination. B.Sc. Nursing selection uses the entrance test held by the university.

Degree Routes for M.Sc. Medical

A qualification from a recognized university in any one of the following groups meets the academic entry requirement for M.Sc. Medical:

MMU Solan accepts both online and offline applications. Students applying to more than one course must submit a separate form for each. The university also conducts counselling as part of its admission process.
