Selection process for admission to KU are based on the following criteria:
M.Sc. Biotechnology and the MA in Mass Communication & Journalism - Students must take the entrance exam twice. The results of both exams will be merged to determine the final selection.
MBA, MFC, and IMBA Programs: For admission to MBA, MFC, and IMBA courses, candidates must appear in CAT/MAT/UGAT examinations. Qualified students must submit their scorecards when admission notifications are issued. The final selection to the above courses is based on group discussion, interview, and the most recent MAT/CAT score.
BBA MBA (5-year IMBA) - Admissions to the 5-year IMBA course in BBA MBA are selected based on the applicant's latest UGAT score, performance on the entrance exam, group discussion, and viva.
B.Tech - Must pass 10 + 2 qualifying exam and an AIEEE score. AIEEE score carries 60% weightage, while the qualifying examination's merit carries 40% weightage.
Other Conditions: Candidates may simultaneously study in one part-time (morning/evening) certificate course and a full-time postgraduate programme.
For the M.P.Ed program, students who pass the physical efficiency test are eligible to appear in the entrance exam, except for in-service candidates.
Candidates must provide the physical copy of the following documents with their application form in order to be considered for admission to different programmes:
a) Duly attested copies of a bachelor's degree, secondary certificate, or other degree.
b) Candidates who have passed their qualifying exam from a foreign university are required to submit all relevant data and documentation attesting to the equivalent status of their qualifications.
b) Marks cards and degrees must be translated, if not in English, and a copy of the same must be duly attested.
d) A character certificate from the head of the department that was most recently attended.
e) Bank account information.
f) Bank receipts /details of the processing fee payment made via net banking.
g) A statement from the applicant's bank attesting to the existence of adequate cash in the account
To assist foreign students, Kashmir University maintains an International Students Cell in the Allama Iqbal Library. The following are the prerequisites for admission to Kashmir University's undergraduate programmes:
1. A minimum grade of 50% from a recognised board's 10+2 or equivalent exam
2. Foreign nationals are exempt from taking the entrance exam.
3. International students must fulfil the eligibility requirements in order to be admitted to certain courses.
4. In cases where there are more applicants than available seats, students will be admitted on the basis of their performance on qualifying exams.
