Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) became an Institute of National Importance in 1996 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Its first PGP batch started in 1998. The institute is governed by the IIM Act 2017, so it can award degrees. It is also the second IIM to receive Triple Crown accreditation: AACSB in 2019, EQUIS in 2019 with re-accreditation in 2023, and AMBA in 2016.

• EPGP (Executive Post Graduate Programme): This is a 1-year full-time executive MBA. The total fee is INR 26.76 Lakhs. Admission accepts GMAT, GRE, or CAT scores and needs at least 5 years of post-graduation experience.
• PGPMX: This 2-year weekend executive programme is offered in Mumbai. The total fee is INR 17.60 Lakhs.
• FPM/DPM (Fellow Programme in Management): This doctoral programme runs for 3 to 5 years.

For the 2-year PGP, students pay a total of INR 25.15 Lakhs. The 5-year IPM costs INR 38.29 Lakhs. Need-based financial assistance may cover up to 100% of the tuition fee, and 20% of the batch receives some kind of aid.

The PGP fee is split into INR 13.04 Lakhs for Year 1 and INR 12.11 Lakhs for Year 2, making the total INR 25.15 Lakhs. For IPM, the fee is INR 5.00 Lakhs per year for Years 1 to 3 and INR 10.00 Lakhs per year for Years 4 to 5. Students who finish all five years receive the dual degree, BBA plus MBA equivalent.

IIM Indore Admission Process

IIM Indore uses different selection routes for its main programmes. PGP and PGP-HRM admissions are CAT-based, IPM admission is through IPMAT Indore, and EPGP accepts GMAT, GRE, or CAT scores along with work experience.

PGP Admission (CAT-Based)

For PGP and PGP-HRM, IIM Indore first checks the minimum CAT cutoff for Stage I. It then ranks candidates through a Composite Score for Stage II. Shortlisted students appear for WAT, which means Written Ability Test, and PI, which means Personal Interview.

• Stage I cutoffs (minimum): General category candidates need 80 overall and 70 in each section: VARC, DILR, and QA. OBC-NC and EWS candidates need 75 overall and 65 sectional. SC, ST, and PwD candidates need 50 overall and 40 sectional.
• Stage II Composite Score: CAT sectional scores carry 55 points, divided as VARC 16, DILR 16, and QA 23. Class XII marks carry 25 points, Class X marks carry 10 points, diversity factor carries 7 points, and work experience carries up to 3 points.
• Effective cutoff for General male engineering candidates: After Composite Score ranking, the practical selection range usually falls between the 95 to 97 percentile.
• WAT and PI: IIM Indore conducts these rounds at its own campus and at partner cities. Final Stage III offers use WAT-PI performance along with the Composite Score.

The PGP 2026-28 batch has 487 students, including 264 female and 223 male students. This shows the institute's steady gender diversity record.

IPM Admission (IPMAT-Based)

• Entrance: Admission is through IPMAT Indore, or Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test. It is different from IPMAT Rohtak and other IIM IPMAT exams.
• Sections: The paper includes Quantitative Ability in SA and MCQ formats, along with Verbal Ability.
• 2025 General category cutoffs: The cutoffs were QA (SA) 24, QA (MCQ) 35, VA 113, and overall composite 381.
• Competition: The programme has 150 seats. Each year, 40,000 students apply and 22,000 sit for the exam.

EPGP Admission (GMAT/GRE/CAT-Based)

EPGP applicants must have at least 5 years of managerial, professional, or entrepreneurial experience after graduation. IIM Indore accepts GMAT, GRE, and CAT scores for this programme. Among 2025 shortlisted candidates, the GMAT score range was 565 to 730. The entrance test score has a 40% weight in EPGP composite selection. Applications move in Phase-1 and Phase-2, with rolling admission decisions.

IIM Indore Placements

IIM Indore completed 100% placements in the 2025 placement season. The average CTC stood at INR 29.57 LPA, the median CTC was INR 27 LPA, and the highest domestic CTC reached INR 70 LPA. Consulting had the highest share of offers at 35.4%. General Management, HR, and Operations followed with 26.5%, Finance with 14.5%, Sales and Marketing with 13.2%, and IT and Analytics with 10.4%. IIM Indore Scholarships

IIM Indore provides need-based financial assistance for students in PGP, PGP-HRM, and IPM. Support may range from INR 40,000 per year to a full tuition fee waiver. The institute states that 20% of the batch receives some form of support.

IIM Indore Campus and Infrastructure
