RGPV Admission Dates 2027

RGPV B.Tech admission at the UIT campuses is handled through MP DTE centralised counselling using JEE Main scores. M.Tech admission is based on GATE scores through MPBE counselling. The upcoming 2027-28 admission cycle is expected to follow the exam and counselling timelines below.

RGPV Courses and Fees

RGPV's own UIT campuses and University Teaching Departments offer more than 30 UG and PG courses in engineering, architecture, pharmacy, and applied sciences. The fee structure is lower than many private institutions because RGPV is a state government university.

RGPV also has lateral entry B.E. for diploma holders. This route is completed in 3 years, and the total B.E. lateral fee is INR 1,00,740. Hostel facilities are charged separately at nominal rates. Affiliated engineering colleges in Madhya Pradesh follow higher fee structures decided by their own managements.

RGPV Admission Process

RGPV does not hold a separate entrance test for UG admission. Seats in B.Tech and BE at the UIT campuses are allotted through Madhya Pradesh Directorate of Technical Education (MP DTE) centralised counselling on the basis of JEE Main scores. The same process is used for state-quota seats in government and private engineering colleges affiliated to RGPV.

The accepted exam or selection route for each programme is given below.

B.Tech and BE Admission

• Students must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The minimum required marks are 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST category.
• Selection is based on JEE Main scores. Seat allotment in MP DTE counselling rounds depends on the candidate's rank.
• For the 2025 cycle, the UIT RGPV CSE JEE Main closing rank for the General category was 7,68,432.
• For the 2025 cycle, the UIT RGPV Civil Engineering JEE Main closing rank for the General category was 9,33,922.

Lateral entry to B.Tech/BE is also available for diploma holders or B.Sc graduates. These admissions are done through a separate MP DTE lateral entry counselling round.

M.Tech / ME Admission

For M.Tech or ME, students need a B.Tech or BE degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% aggregate. Admission is through MPBE counselling using valid GATE scores. Candidates without GATE may be considered for management-quota seats.

MBA and MCA Admission

MBA applicants need a graduation degree with at least 50% aggregate and a valid CAT, MAT, or CMAT score. MCA applicants must have a BCA, B.Sc CS, or equivalent graduation degree with Mathematics at the 10+2 or graduation level. Both programmes admit students through MPBE counselling.

B.Arch Admission

For B.Arch, students must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and 50% marks. They also need a valid NATA score or JEE Main Paper 2 score, followed by MP DTE counselling.

RGPV Placements

According to the data submitted to NIRF 2025, RGPV placed 532 UG B.Tech students from the 2023-24 batch. This equals a 90.5% placement rate among eligible UG students. The 4-year UG median salary was INR 7.10 LPA in 2025, compared with INR 4.25 LPA in the previous year. The highest offer reported was INR 54 LPA.

At the 2-year PG level, covering M.Tech and MBA, 152 students were placed. The median salary for this group was INR 5.23 LPA, and the placement rate among eligible PG students was 89.9%. The placement cell works across UIT campuses and connects students with recruiters from IT, manufacturing, banking, and public sector fields.

The UG median salary rose to INR 7.10 LPA for the 2024 batch from INR 4.25 LPA for the 2023 batch. Stronger recruiter interest in CSE and data science helped this increase. Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical students mainly find roles in government PSUs, regional manufacturing firms, and private sector companies.

RGPV Scholarships

Students studying at RGPV's UIT campuses can apply for central and Madhya Pradesh government scholarships and freeships. The main scholarship options for RGPV students are listed below.

The Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana is especially useful for meritorious students from Madhya Pradesh. Students who qualify and take admission in government institutions in the state can get full tuition fee reimbursement, making the B.Tech tuition free for them.

RGPV Campus and Infrastructure

RGPV's main campus is located on Airport Road, also called Airport Bypass Road, in Bhopal 462033. The campus covers 247 acres and includes the central university administration, University Teaching Departments, research centres, and student facilities. Four UIT campuses function in different parts of Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh, with their own laboratories and teaching blocks.

The academic facilities include engineering and science labs, computer centres, an auditorium, seminar halls, and a central library with print and digital resources. Research facilities are available through the University Teaching Departments for Ph.D. and M.Tech scholars. The university also has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), which looks after NAAC-related quality processes.

The main campus provides separate hostels for boys and girls at nominal government rates. Students also have access to a sports complex, gymnasium, cafeteria, bank, and health centre. The Airport Road location gives the campus transport connectivity with Bhopal city.

RGPV vs LNCT University vs RKDF University

Students looking for engineering colleges in Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh often compare RGPV's UIT campuses with private universities such as LNCT University and RKDF University. The main points of comparison are government or private status, fees, admission route, and campus environment.

RGPV's UIT campuses have one of the lowest B.Tech fee structures in Bhopal. The total 4-year fee of INR 1,31,940 is much lower than private options. Students must qualify through JEE Main, and the direct UG intake at the RGPV campus is smaller than the intake at large private universities. LNCT and RKDF offer more direct and flexible admission routes, but their fees are much higher.
