Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is a public hospital and an institute established in 1961 under the State Legislature Act under the Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature. It is named after its founder- the Nizam of Hyderabad- and was inaugurated by Princess Durreshehvar. NIMS is recognized by UGC, Medical Council of India (MCI), and National Board of Examination as a territory care postgraduate medical and research Institute.

There are several courses that have been organized under different disciplines. NIMS provides UG, PG programs in pharmacy, physiotherapy, nursing, paramedicine, hospital administration, and research in the relevant disciplines of modern medicine and allied sciences, including the interdisciplinary fields of physical and biological science.
