AKU Indore Courses, Eligibility and Fees

Across its seven faculties, AKU has more than 51 programmes. Total charges start at INR 24,500 for arts and humanities courses and reach INR 4.02 Lakhs for M.Tech. Its fees are relatively affordable within Madhya Pradesh's private university sector. The table brings together course duration, entry requirements and total programme fees. B.E. is the university's main engineering degree, with CSE and IT attracting the most interest. B.Sc Agriculture, B.Pharm and a full set of polytechnic diploma options add to its course range. AKU is among the few private universities in Indore that bring engineering, pharmacy, agriculture and law together on one campus.

How Admission Works at AKU Indore

The admission route depends on the course. National and state entrance scores are used for several technical and professional degrees, while merit is also used for humanities, commerce and management admissions. Applications for all programmes are handled online through aku.ac.in.

2. Take the relevant entrance examination if the chosen admission route requires a score.
3. Complete the university's online application and upload the required documents.
4. Attend counselling and document verification so the university can assess eligibility and merit.
5. After a seat is allotted, pay the tuition fee to confirm admission.

Engineering: B.E. and M.Tech

Six branches are available through B.E., the university's main engineering programme. Applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, securing at least 45% aggregate.
• Hold an accepted score from JEE Main, CGPET, the state entrance route described for Chhattisgarh/MP, or CUET UG.
• Qualify through the entrance-score merit list, complete document verification and pay the required fees.

For M.Tech, students need a B.E. or B.Tech degree and a valid GATE score. Those without GATE may be considered through the university's entrance examination. The 7 specialisations are CSE, Cyber Security, Digital Communication, Power Systems, Structural Engineering, Thermal Engineering and Computer Technology.

Architecture and Polytechnic Diplomas

Applicants to B.Arch must have studied Mathematics in 10+2 and hold valid scores in both NATA and JEE Main Paper 2. The Engineering Diploma route starts after a Class 10 pass. Selection uses Class 10 merit or state polytechnic counselling, with Civil, CSE, Electrical, ECE and Mechanical branches available.

Pharmacy Admissions

Students entering B.Pharm or D.Pharma need 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry, together with Biology or Mathematics. Selection can use NEET UG scores or qualifying-examination merit. M.Pharm applicants must hold B.Pharm and qualify through GPAT or the merit route.

Management and Computer Applications

A graduate with at least 50% marks can apply for MBA using MAT, CMAT or the university entrance test. MCA requires BCA, B.Sc in Computer Science/Information Technology, or an equivalent degree that includes Mathematics. NIMCET scores are also accepted for direct-admission consideration for both programmes. MCA additionally has university-test and merit-based admission routes.

Law Admissions

The integrated B.A.LL.B lasts 5 years and accepts students from any 10+2 stream. Admission uses CLAT or the university's law entrance examination. Graduates can instead apply for the 3-year LLB, for which they need at least 45% marks in graduation and a valid CLAT or university-test score.

Agriculture, Education and General Degrees

For B.Sc Agriculture, the admission routes are CUET UG and MP JET, identified as the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya Entrance Test. The course-specific requirement is 10+2 with Biology and at least 45% aggregate. B.Ed applicants need a graduate degree with 50% marks and a valid MP B.Ed Entrance Test score.

Merit is the main selection route for BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA and B.Sc across humanities, commerce and science subjects. CUET UG scores are accepted for these programmes as well.

AKU Indore Placement Details

Campus hiring is organised by the Training and Placement Cell, also called the T&P Cell. It supports students in engineering, pharmacy, management and IT. The latest recruitment round brought more than 54 companies to campus, with salary offers ranging from INR 2.8 LPA to INR 4.6 LPA. LPA means lakhs per annum, or lakhs of rupees per year.

Before recruitment begins, the placement team trains students in aptitude, communication and soft skills. Visiting employers represent IT, pharmaceuticals, banking and manufacturing. Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and IBM are among the companies that have recruited on campus. Other IT services businesses and pharmaceutical employers also hire students, including B.Pharm and M.Pharm graduates.

For most CSE and IT engineering graduates, the first job is in IT services or software testing. Pharmacy graduates commonly start in production or quality assurance, which involves checking that medicines meet required standards. These roles are typically with pharmaceutical businesses in the Indore-Pithampur industrial area.

Facilities and Campus Life at AKU Indore

All seven faculties share one continuous green campus at Village Arandia, Vijay Nagar, on Indore-Dewas Bypass Road. Engineering, pharmacy, management and professional studies have separate blocks. The railway station is 10 km away, and public transport and auto-rickshaws connect the bypass corridor with Indore's residential neighbourhoods.

Engineering students have laboratories for CSE, electrical, civil, mechanical and electronics subjects. Pharmacy facilities include pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology and quality assurance laboratories. Computer centres and a central library support academic work. The T&P Cell also has space on campus for placement interviews.

Students can stay in on-campus hostels with separate wings for men and women. The university received its NAAC B+ grade in 2021.

Comparing AKU, SAGE and Oriental Universities

AKU, SAGE University and Oriental University attract a similar group of applicants considering engineering, management or pharmacy in Indore. Each is a private university in the Indore region with courses across several disciplines.

Students interested in newer engineering specialisations may find SAGE's AI and Robotics options relevant. It has the highest NAAC grade of the three, A+, and the widest programme catalogue. Founded in 2011, Oriental is the oldest of these universities. Its established focus is engineering and management, supported by stable campus infrastructure and lower-fee entry options.
