CSMU Placement Process

The CRC at CSMU conducts placements through a set process so that students and recruiters know each stage clearly.

Company invitation: The TPC contacts companies and also handles hiring requests from companies. Recruiters then share job roles, pay details, profiles and selection rules.

Student registration: Students interested in placements submit their resumes and passport-size photos to the Training and Placement Officer. They are expected not to contact these companies directly.

Pre-placement training: Before recruitment drives begin, students attend mock tests, soft skills sessions, CV building activities, gap analysis and career counselling so they can prepare for jobs.

Campus, off-campus and pool drives: Companies conduct campus recruitment drives. CSMU also helps students access off-campus and pool campus opportunities.

Selection and result: Recruiters shortlist students through written tests, group discussions and interviews. Selected students are then added to the final placement list.

More opportunities: Students who are not placed in the first round get further chances in upcoming drives. Those planning to start a business or pursue higher studies are supported separately by the Entrepreneurship and Career Counselling Cell.

Note: Eligible students can start appearing for CSMU placement drives from the end of the 3rd semester.

CSMU Pre-Placement Training and Support

CSMU's CRC prepares students before they meet recruiters. The main training and support activities are listed below:

• Personality Development Classes: Students work on confidence, body language and communication.
• Mock Interviews: Practice interview rounds help students get ready for real company interviews.
• CV Building: Students receive personalised help to prepare stronger resumes.
• Gap Identification: The cell helps students find missing skills and improve them.
• Pre-Placement Career Counselling: One-on-one guidance helps students choose suitable companies and roles.
• Live Projects: Students work on short-term projects with real companies during academic sessions.
• Language Learning programs: Training covers English communication and optional foreign language learning.
• Alumni Interaction Sessions: Seniors working in top companies share career advice and industry information.
• Guest Lectures and Industry Visits: Senior professionals visit the campus and explain real workplace practices.

CSMU Internship Program

CSMU makes internships compulsory as part of the course curriculum. Every student must complete a 6 to 8 week summer internship with a reputed company or research institute.

The internship is meant to help students:

• Use classroom learning in real work situations
• Understand the corporate environment early
• Build professional contacts before final placements
• Improve their chances of receiving a Pre-Placement Offer, called PPO

Students can also take up short-term live projects with companies while continuing their regular classes. These projects help them understand how different industries work.

CSMU students have received internship opportunities from companies such as Amazon, Deloitte, SAP, Tata and other leading firms.
