Alipurduar College Latest Updates
Alipurduar College, West Bengal has turned to Alipurduar University from the year 2020. B.Sc and B.com are Most Popular Courses Available at the College. It will soon be calling Applicants to Apply for Admission in Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree courses in all disciplines. Admission to B.Sc, B.A, B.Com, MA, and M.Sc will be done based on merit. Bachelor's Degree courses will be offered in Honors and General modes.
Latest Update:
Admissions to all the courses will start in June 2021 (Tentatively). This year no fees for online application will be taken from the candidate. The E-Counseling will be held in 4-5 Phases. This year students of the "University of North Bengal" will be treated as the Home university Students. The merit list will be finalized separately for Home University students and other Universities Students.
80% of total seats in all the Post Graduate courses will be reserved for students of the home university. Rest 20% of the total seats in each course will be for other Universities Students. Merit for PG courses will be determined based on percentage obtained by the student in the Honours subject for (1+1+1 system) or all subjects for graduates under CBCS. 5% marks will be deducted from the aggregate percentage for the students who have graduated before the year 2021 (Upto 5 Years allowed) and the deducted marks will be considered for the preparation of the merit list.

- About 64.48 Acres of land to the College are Donated by the Mc. William School Authority
- Boys and Girls’ Hostels were established in 1962 at the College.
- The NCC Boys unit was introduced in 1958, Girls’ unit in 1963.
- The NSS unit was introduced in 1975.
- Two separate hostels for SC/ST Boys and Girls have been built by the Government.

How to Avail?
Students belonging to SC and ST categories are required to apply through the Principal office for Stipends and Scholarships for Government Scholarship.
Meritorious Students who belong to the General category or any Category and have a low family income are offered Half Free Scholarship from the College fund based on merit. Students can contact the College Office for further details regarding Half-Free Scholarships.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course as my CA exam syllabus matches with my course syllabus. The course curriculum taught here is outdated and teachers teach in the old methods too which doesn't give exposure to real life industry knowledge. The exams are held after 6 months in semester basis which are manageable to pass.
Placement Experience:
There is no placement cell in our college so we don't get on campus placements from the college. Company visits are even not there in our college. Intership opportunities are not provided as well from the college. Mostly students opt for off campus placements.

The college has a backdated course curriculum which is bookish and does not focus on real life industry knowledge and exposure. Students are average here in thier academics with few toppers like me. The faculty members are limited who teach all the subjects in all the semesters. Exams are held here after every 6 months on semester basis and is quite manageable.
Placement Experience:
In our college, there is no placement cell which provides on campus placements to the students. Also, there are no company visits in the college too. The college doesn't even provide intership opportunities to it's students. Most of the students opt for off campus placements or start their own venture. Course Curriculum Overview:
Faculty is normal not too good not too bad. But in this college, there's a union of students following a particular political party and they call themselves TMCP. Although most of this union's members are passed out they r still interfering in college matters. And the fun fact is that the union is just some 10 meters away from the college and the union members can freely roam around the college without any I'd card though they r not bonafied students anymore. Although the teachers are good and helpful. If anyone wants to join this college my advice would be to stay away from that union and focus on study.
Placement Experience:
No placement since it's a traditional degree, not a professional one. After completing it I aim to pursue an M.A. and go for higher studies and also I am preparing for government jobs. If anyone's willing to join the college for placement then that's a very wrong place for you. But if you google it you'll see that the college gives placements which according to my knowledge is incorrect.
