I chose this college as I had to prepare for competitive exams and just needed a basic graduation degree so I took bcom here. The admission process for this college is that students need to apply through a website called WBCAP and must pass their 12th board with minimum of 60% marks to get admission here.
The college has a backdated course curriculum which is bookish and does not focus on real life industry knowledge and exposure. Students are average here in thier academics with few toppers like me. The faculty members are limited who teach all the subjects in all the semesters. Exams are held here after every 6 months on semester basis and is quite manageable.
My college doesn't provide any internship opportunities and neither have I opted for internship off campus as I am a competitive exam aspirant and focus on my studies. I have been thinking to apply for an internship after my third semester but am not sure about it. I know I can atleast get a stipend of 15-20k.
In our college, there is no placement cell which provides on campus placements to the students. Also, there are no company visits in the college too. The college doesn't even provide intership opportunities to it's students. Most of the students opt for off campus placements or start their own venture. The rest continue with their higher studies or competitive exams preparation.
The total course fees for 4 years is 10,500rs which is divided into 8 semesters. Admission and registration charges are 2000rs. Exam fees are charged separately from the university. My batchmates pay the same fees. We also have a scholarship named Swami Vivekananda merit cum means scholarship which provides 12,000rs per year.
In my college, there are few fests and events held including the freshers party and senior's farewell. The library has old editions of books with a less variety of authors of each subjects. The college doesn't focus much on extracurricular activities and sports. There are college clubs run by senior union members which are politically and student funded.
I am a day scholar and live near my college. Yes there is a hostel here in our college both for boys and girls separately just beside the college. The hostel is decent and average just like the college. I don't have much knowledge about the registration process. The fees for hostel heard by one of my friend is 1000 per month which includes mess fees too.
Placement is I do not say that is very good but I would say that treatment is almost okay and that's up to you and lot of MNC companies came in our College group. There are internship opportunities industrial training like Euphoria ardent like this MNC and ideas
In this college we have five departments, civil, computer science, mechanical, electrical and mechanical respectively and the stops are very good and the faculties are highly qualified and they are about almost everyone is iitiab
Faculties are well qualified but there is lack of experience teacher as most of the teacher are from local area and the college does not try to bring talent across different region of India. Also college does not have standard process of selection.
We have campus placements in our college. Some of the most famous companies which visit every year is TCS and Cognizant. The salary is very average around 1.5-2 LPA for freshers. You have to maintain a very decent profile with 0 active backlogs to get a job directly via our college placement. There are around 50-100 students who get places every year from our batch via campus placement.
I chose bcom hons because i was a commerce student in school. The course is well taught in our college. The syllabus is same for all the calcutta university students. The faculty is knowledgeable and well trained. All the teachers are friendly and teach us thoroughly. The classes are held regularly and on time. We had exams every 6 months. Let’s say 1st semester exam will be held after 4-5 months of joining. We had to give internal exams of 20 marks after 4 months of classes which was followed by external examination of 80 marks (nearly 1 month after that). The difficulty level is somewhere around 9/10 for other subjects and 10/10 for accounting and Tax.
Placements at the Institute of Pharmacy Jalpaiguri are not good because their is no in campus placement. Most students pursue higher studies or find jobs off-campus.The average package ranges from ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package can go up to around ?4–5 LPA depending on the company and role. Many students prefer higher studies such as M.Pharm, MBA, or preparation for competitive exams to improve career prospects. After completing my degree, I plan to either pursue higher studies or gain industry experience to build a strong career in the pharmaceutical sector.
The placement and internship cell of the college was really bad though. They did give us internship in different hospitals which were unpaid and the offered jobs were for experienced people, not for inexperienced or freshers. Only this side of the college was lacking. Otherwise, good. I had an job opportunity from this college which offered me 10000 a month.
There is a good opportunity of placements in AOT as it is a very renowned college for a long time. The previous years placement are ~200%, ~150%, ~90% and for this year too it will be good. The college prepares the students properly for placements through trainings.
For computer science student theyare not providing any type of placement in campus but in other department student have any placement opportunity in our collage in every year visit from TCS, APPLO, and many big and small companies
Xavier law school is still in its nascent stage and hence due to this reason only two batches have graduated as of now. the highest package was not that good, and it was average rather and all the students were also not placed. many opted for litigation and higher study.
Still don't about the placements and job opportunities . I haven't even discussed with my seniors about the opportunities after the graduation we get from college.
College don't provides any placement. But this college is little bit famous of our locality areas. If you need job the degree from this college will be valuable. This a downside of our college. I don't think we will face problem for the college degree.
