Started in 1931, Indian Statistical institute (ISI) is the oldest and reputable Statistical and researchable Institute. It has been ranked 50th among the Government Institutes. Indian Statistical institute (ISI) is approved by AICTE and Accredited by MOSPI (Ministry of Statistics and Programme implementation). The Institute’s headquarter is located in Kolkata including 4 more centres run in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Tezpur. In 1959, the India government announced Indian Statistical institute (ISI) as an Institution of National Importance.
Indian Statistical institute (ISI) provides UG programs in bachelor of Statistics and bachelor of Mathematics. In PG diploma programs, the Institute offers PGDCA, PGDBA and PGDM. Apart from the UG and PG programs, ISI also provides 7 other graduate programs like Master in Statistics, mathematics, science in Quantitative Economics, Library and information science, Management science, MTech in computer science, MTech in cryptology & security and MTech in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research. Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Stipend Programs
Stipend, fellowship and contingency grant are offered to non-sponsored candidates and research fellows who are admitted to different courses excluding the Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics.
- Non-sponsored students are not required to pay any fee for any of the courses.
- Stipends are given in the first instance for the first or academic year only.
- If the progress of the candidate is satisfactory then they are renewed periodically.
- If the candidate’s progress, attendance in class, character and conduct are not satisfactory then the stipend or fellowship are reduced or completely withdrawn.
- If a student leaves the course in the middle then the student has to refund the amount of stipend or fellowship or contingency.
- The candidates are also awarded for their examination performance at the end of each semester/year.
