PWC Patna Courses and Fees

PWC Patna runs more than 30 UG and PG programmes in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Technology, and Education. The college also offers more than 20 short-term Diploma and Certificate courses in professional and vocational skills.

PWC Patna Admission Process

UG Programmes (BA Hons, B.Sc Hons, B.Com, BBA, BCA, BMC, Fashion Design)

Only women candidates can apply for UG courses at PWC. Applicants must have passed Class 12/Intermediate or must be appearing for the exam. Students with compartment or failed status are not eligible.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with the minimum aggregate required for the chosen programme, usually 45% to 50% for BCA, BBA, and BMC
• Selection: Class 12 marks and PWC Entrance Test score, with a 70-mark objective paper of 1 hour and no negative marking
• Process: Students apply online at pwcadmissions.in, wait for the merit list, attend document verification with original certificates, and pay the fee digitally

Subjects such as Microbiology and Data Science under B.Sc Hons usually have higher merit cut-offs because seats are limited. At verification, applicants must carry original mark sheets, school certificates, and migration certificate.

B.Ed Programme

The B.Ed course is offered as per NCTE norms. A Bachelor’s degree in any stream with at least 50% aggregate is required. Admission is based on merit and an entrance test. The 2-year programme follows the Patna University B.Ed examination calendar.

PG Programmes (MA, M.Sc, MCA)

For PG admission, students need a relevant Bachelor’s degree in the related subject. The minimum aggregate is usually 45% to 50%, as mentioned in the annual prospectus.

• MA (all subjects): Relevant BA/BSc/BCom degree with the required minimum aggregate
• M.Sc (Biotechnology, Physics, Zoology): Relevant B.Sc degree in the same subject area
• MCA: BCA, B.Sc (IT/Mathematics), or B.Com with Mathematics background

For PG courses, PWC uses both UG merit and marks in its PG entrance test. MCA general category cut-offs have usually required a strong base in Mathematics and computer fundamentals.

PWC Patna Placements

PWC Patna has a placement cell for campus drives, pre-placement training, resume clinics, and interview preparation. In the 2025 placement season, the college conducted five major placement drives.

NIRF 2025 data shows that 512 UG students were placed out of 1,510 graduating students. Their median CTC was INR 4.5 LPA. At the PG level, 82 students out of 470 were placed, also at a median package of INR 4.5 LPA.

TCS, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, Concentrix, ABP Network, and Polytropic Services are among the recruiters at PWC Patna. Students are placed in IT services, finance, media, and business operations roles.

PWC Patna Rankings

PWC Patna has remained in the NIRF 101-150 band in the College category since 2024. The ranking places it among the recognised women’s colleges in eastern India under the National Institutional Ranking Framework.

PWC Patna Campus and Infrastructure

PWC Patna is located on Bailey Road, Patna-800001. The campus spreads across 29.4 acres in central Patna. Its six academic blocks include classrooms, science laboratories, computer labs, and departmental areas for more than 10,000 students. The college has more than 200 faculty members.

The college has a working Meteorological Observatory, which is uncommon at the undergraduate college level in Bihar. PWC also publishes four peer-reviewed research journals named EXPLORE, IRIS, Book Quest, and Headway, showing its focus on student research output.

The campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled. The girls hostel has space for 61 resident students, and annual hostel fees range from INR 40,000 to INR 77,000, including mess charges. Other facilities include an auditorium, medical health centre, canteen, library, NSS unit, and Red Ribbon Club.
