RJC Admission Process

RJC uses the University of Mumbai online pre-admission portal for undergraduate applications. Selection at the UG level is based on HSC marks, and applicants do not take a separate entrance test. Under the college's linguistic minority status, 50% of seats are reserved for students from the Hindi-speaking community.

BA, B.Sc and B.Com Admission

Class 12 marks form the merit basis for admission to every first-year undergraduate course. Applicants who completed Class 12 through a board other than the Maharashtra State Board must secure an eligibility certificate from the University of Mumbai.

  • Applicants need at least 45% in HSC from a recognised board.
  • An HSC qualification in the Science stream is compulsory for B.Sc science courses.
  • Admission involves online registration, document submission, merit-list selection, fee payment and final confirmation.

BBA and BMS Admission

The autonomous-college rules of the University of Mumbai govern BBA and BMS admission. Students from any 10+2 stream may apply with at least 45%. Selection depends on aggregate HSC marks, without an entrance examination.

Postgraduate Admissions for MA, M.Sc, M.Com and MHA

Departments conduct postgraduate counselling and may also arrange a written test or personal interview. The academic requirements vary by programme.

  • MA applicants need a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject with at least 45%.
  • M.Sc applicants must hold a relevant B.Sc degree with at least 50%.
  • M.Com requires B.Com or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 45%.
  • MHA is open to graduates from any stream who have at least 50%.

PhD Admissions

PhD applicants must have at least 55% in a postgraduate degree. The selection process consists of the college's Research Entrance Test (RET) followed by a personal interview. Nine disciplines are available. A valid JRF or UGC NET qualification may provide exemption from RET under UGC rules.

Application Steps

  1. Register through the University of Mumbai online pre-admission portal for the selected programme.
  2. Complete the application and upload the required academic and personal documents.
  3. Check the merit list or attend the applicable departmental selection process.
  4. Pay the prescribed course fee after selection.
  5. Submit any remaining documents and complete admission confirmation with RJC.

RJC Cutoffs

RJC undergraduate cutoffs depend on the course, applicant category and merit-list round. For the General category, the second merit list in 2026-27 closed at the following percentages for the aided B.Com and B.Sc programmes.
