St. Anthony's is a nice college for people from the northeast. Value for money.

What I Liked

The college campus is very cool and green. It gets overcrowded but is very charming.
The students range from all the states in the northeast. A cultural hotpot.

What I didn’t like

Hate the canteens. Trash overpriced food.
Hate the principal and the guards. Always have to nitpick on one thing or the other.

Placement Experience:

In my degree you do not get any placements unless some random visitor decides to give you one on a good day. Other departments did have placements sorted such as the music department and the computer science department. You get beginner level roles except for music that really pays off in the long run.

Remarks:

This was the only college offering my degree in the state. The college experience was good enough but we did not really get any placements which severely impeded my growth. The admission process is simple and you get chosen based on interview. Just gotta stay up to date on current affairs and know how to speak properly.

Self gain honest Experience

What I Liked

Quality Teachings, Cleaned Campus, Canteens
Anti ragging Campus, Well Trained Teachers

What I didn’t like

Hostel Food and Timings, The NEP 2020 System
Too many subjects to study, Not able to focus on major subject due to other subject's pressure

Placement Experience:

The placements facility is there. Already three of the teachers of our department are from our college. The minimum salary is 1 lakh per year. The college has many placements in other famous companies.

Remarks:

The factors which made me chose this colleges are Affordable college than other music colleges Quality Teachings and one of the top colleges in whole North East India and accredited with A++ Western and Indian Classical Music Teach in the International level

College talks

What I Liked

Overall I like everything about the college like the classroom the environment the campus etc
Also the faculty and the teachers from my department. The canteen is also good so I can add that too.

What I didn’t like

I don’t like the library of the college.
I also don’t like the rainy weather that makes the campus little slipery

Placement Experience:

The employment rate of my course is demanding so I opt this. Also there is campus opportunity for some courses available in the college. After biotechnology you can choose any profession like professor researcher etc .

Remarks:

Since Biotechnology is good in this college therefore I choose it . Also for my course there is no entrance test , it was on merit base that is based on 12 marks but for some courses like media tech etc it has entrance test.

What I Liked

I like the college campus, classrooms, teachers,etc.

What I didn’t like

The things that I dislike in the college is the office staff.

Placement Experience:

There is no such placement opportunities. My plan after the course is to continue my studies and become a professor and i will invest in some business for side earning. In the college we get only certificates if we participate in such activities and that can also help in finding jobs.

Remarks:

This college was my dream college as it is famous all over Meghalaya and India as well. The college doesn't have any bad aspects .The admission process is both online and offline and there is no exams or interview for the students but they look at the HSSLC marks and the CUET .

St. Anthony's College,Shillong -affordable and one of the best college in North East

What I Liked

I like how the college is trying to make moral behavior intact with each and every student.
For infrastructure, I would rate 9/10 . The classrooms are up to the standard . Every classrooms have projectors.

What I didn’t like

Internet is so bad in college campus. Sometimes it causes a lot of inconveniences

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus is so theoritical. The mathematical portion is not sufficient. We hardly have presentation. I would rate 6/10 . But with the implementation of NEP, I think there is improvement in the syllabus. I chose Economics as I love this subject . The difficulty level of exams is average but our university gives little marks for arts subjects

Remarks:

The environment is quite good. This college is very strict regarding moral behavior/discipline inside the campus. It has a lot of clubs ranging from personality development to sports to humanity services and so. But for my course the course is theoritical . It lacks practical and applications. We hardly have presentations

My experience in St Anthony's college, shillong

What I Liked

The college is very well maintained, peaceful and facilities provided by college is very good
The faculty members of all the departments are very friendly and supportive.

What I didn’t like

Girls washroom is too far from the classrooms and is also very dark as sometimes there is no light
The canteen food is average and there should be some improvement in the quality.

Placement Experience:

There was no such placements for BSc Biotechnology students but for other courses there were placements. From BBA different companies like Nestle etc. came for recruitment. Interview was conducted for the students who were eligible for placements and eligibility was based on previous years exam percentage. My plan after the degree is to pursue MSc in biotechnology.

Remarks:

Since I was from the COVID batch so that time there was no entrance test or interview. Admission took place with respect to class 12 percentage and first cum first basis. I choose St. Anthony's college since I got to know from many professors from my city tat St. Anthony's is best for biotechnology and is the first college ever to introduce the subject in North East.

MY COLLEGE

What I Liked

We have very knowledgeable teachers who helps us understand every topic they teach.
Every student in the college is very open minded and everyone welcome you with open arms not matter what background you belong to.

What I didn’t like

The college campus is very small so we don't have much space to play and the college don't have good parking facility for students.
The college introduced uniforms which is too costly and the uniform quality is also not good one set costs around 6000.

Placement Experience:

We have a placement cell in our college which helps the students to get placement during their final year many companies like WIPRO, INFOSYS etc. The highest package a students have got till now is 2.9 LPA. Only a few students gets placement from our college so i decided to get MA degree after this and appear for civil services exam or net after completing my MA degree.

Remarks:

I thought of getting admission in DU but due to some problems i had to drop that plan and the time was almost out to get admission in any other college but St. Anthony's was a backup plan for me so i choose for this college. For my subject i didn't had to appear for any exam but for some subject there are exams like Music, Mass Media etc. You have to score around 70% in the 12th which is the minimum requirement to apply for the college admission and there is not cut off the selection process is basically first come first serve basis.
