Experience of a fourth year in PMCA

What I Liked

Faculties are friendly. Parties like freshers and farewell are really fun in college. Professors clear doubts any time you ask for.
College is very strict with their attendance and in design classes professors give suggestions individually.

What I didn’t like

College campus is very small. Canteen is not that good also. Studios are not air conditioned.
Some teachers get really personal sometimes. Your exam and viva results depend on your face value. Don’t expect any site visits from college.

Placement Experience:

Architecture doesn’t have a placement facility. Students make their portfolio and apply it in firms for jobs or internships. Students in 9th semester apply for internship and by sending their portfolio to different architectural firms and get paid around min 5000 to mac 15000.

Remarks:

The college is in a good location and the faculties are professional and practicing architects. Students those got degrees from this college are working in very famous architectural firms and getting paid really well. Many of them are working abroad. Students have to clear the NATA entrance exam to get admission. They can prepare for NATA by studying online. There are books available for the NATA entrance exam.

Nice college for people serious in academics

What I Liked

Faculty, Building, Exhibitions, Added Courses

What I didn’t like

Infrastructure, Canteen, Orientation, Parking

Placement Experience:

Well, there's no such thing called placement in the college because Architecture is not a professional degree in India, but the college does exhibits for the 5th-year students to present their thesis based on which recruiters do recruit students.

Remarks:

The college has a very good reputation for its education system and also has a very good and reputed faculty. The admission process is also very smooth and is based on NATA scores and JEE scores.

One of the good ones in eastern zone

What I Liked

Good junior senior interaction and the entire college culture, is student friendly.
The college is pretty aesthetically designed and our annual fests are one of the best in our area.

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure needs improvement still.
The internship situation is not yet clear.

Placement Experience:

Usually there are no placement as such in arch colleges, but our college is trying to change that, we've had a public exhibition of final year thesis and many architecture firms were invited. Many were given offers. I personally am planning to start my own practice after this degree.

Remarks:

It was the probably the best college in the eastern zone for architecture. And I had an alumni of the college in my family who reviewed this college as a better one out there, being from Kolkata this near my home as well which made me choose this college over others.
