IISER Mohali BS-MS Admission 2024

IISER, Mohali offers the full-time BS-MS dual program at the undergraduate level. The BS-MS dual degree program is the flagship program of all the five IISERs. This course is offered for the duration of 5 years with the intake of 244. Candidates passed in 10+2 in science stream are eligible to apply for the course. The BS-MS course is available in the following four departments.

Eligibility Criteria

• For BS-MS, Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Science stream with at least 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD) in 2022 or 2023 from any board recognised by the Council of Boards School Education in India (COBSE)
• Candidate must be an Indian national or PIO or OCI to apply for admission.
• The students passing the KVPY with scholarships are not required to clear any further exams. 

Selection Criteria

For admission to BS-MS programs, candidate is based on entrance exam and they are selected through the following channels.

• Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
• Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
• State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)

IISER Integrated Ph.D. Admission 2024

IISER offers Integrated Ph.D program for the duration of 7 years at postgraduate level. Integrated Ph.D includes a two-year MS programme after which candidates can pursue a Ph.D course. This course is consists of two years of coursework and research projects. After that, qualifying students can go on to do a PhD at the institute under the guidance of any faculty member. Integrated MS-PhD is offered in four specialisations.

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science and related areas with minimum 60% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPI out of 10.

Selection Criteria

Candidates will have to appear for the qualifying examination and those who obtain valid score in the following national level exam shall be preferred:

1. Rank in JEST examination for Physics
2. NBHM Masters or Ph.D. scholarship for Mathematics
3. DST INSPIRE fellowship or KVPY scholarship
4. Rank in IIT JAM for the chosen specialization

Candidates will be further shortlisted for the interview on the basis of merit in the entrance examination score. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated via email or post. The final selection will be based on the merit in the examination and the interview.

IISER Mohali Ph.D. Admission 2024

IISER Institute offers full-time Ph.D program for a minimum duration of three years at the research level. This program is available in several disciplines with state-of-the-art research facilities matching global standards in all disciplines to facilitate quality research.

Eligibility Criteria

• Biological Sciences: candidates must have a Master’s Degree/ BTech/ MBBS/ MTech/ MPharm with minimum 60% aggregate or above
• Chemical Sciences: candidate must have Master’s degree in Chemical Sciences, Physical and Biochemical Sciences or MTech/ MPharm in Biotechnology/ Nanotechnology or any other relevant subject with a good academic record
• Physical Sciences and Mathematical Sciences: candidate must have Master’s degree/ BTech/ MTech with a good academic record 
• Earth and Environmental Sciences: candidate must have a Master’s degree/ M.Tech degree in Atmospheric Sciences/ Earth and Environmental Sciences/ Geology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Geophysics/Meteorology/Hydrology /Climate Sciences/ Mathematics / Remote Sensing / Computer Sciences / Artificial Intelligence /Data Sciences to qualify.
• Humanities and Social science: the candidates must have 55% marks in their masters and must have Sociology/ Anthropology/ Modern Indian History/ Urban History/ Political Economy/ Urban Studies/ English Literature in the areas of Trauma Studies, Scatology Studies, and Science-in-theatre/ fiction/ Development Studies / South Asian Studies /Economics /Labour Studies /Public Policy Studies /Feminist Geography/ Labour Geography and Critical Infrastructure Studies as their qualifying subjects.

Selection Criteria

• The candidate must have a valid score in GATE/ CSIR or UGC-NET/ JEST/ /JGEEBILS (TIFR/NCBS)/ GPAT/ ICMR-JRF/ DBT-JRF/DST-INSPIRE/ NBHM in the relevant stream.
• On the basis of results in the qualifying exam, candidates will be called for a screening test and interview.

How to apply for BS-MS Course?

1. Visit the official website of IISC Mohali https://www.iiseradmission.in/ 
2. Register by filling in the basic details and ensure the identity with phone number and email id validation.
3. Login and click on apply for BS-MS course.
4. Fill out the application form by entering personal and educational qualifications
5. Upload the required documents (educational documents, identity documents, photographs and signatures). 
6. Then the option will appear asking if the candidate wants to appear from the SCB Channel, KVPY, or JEE (Advanced). Select the channel same and enrol the scores. If the candidates are appearing for the aptitude test then select the city preferences. 
7. Pay an amount of 2000 as application fees through credit card, debit card, or net banking
8. Submit application form and take a printout for the future reference.
