Every year, application forms for admission to all of the courses offered at IISER Thiruvananthapuram are issued in March or April, with the entrance exam taking place in May. In June, an interview round for iPhD and PhD course admissions takes place.

IISER Trivandrum Scholarships

Researchers admitted to IISERs under the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) will draw associations based on KVPY criteria. Furthermore, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) awards a fixed number of INSPIRE grants of INR 5000 each month to applicants admitted through JEE and SCB stations who meet the DST’s criteria.

However, the grant is not available to students enrolled in a BS programme in Engineering or Economics.

Ques. Which documents do I need to carry at the time of the IISER interview?

Ans. The written tests are usually objective type and will contain 40 questions. The test will be conducted for 2 hours.

Ques. If I get selected for iPhD, will I be eligible for a fellowship?

Ans. Yes. All students who are admitted for the Integrated Ph.D. programme will be receiving an amount of Rs. 10,000/- as fellowship until the successful completion of the related course work. Afterwards, fellowship will be raised so as to comply with the existing CSIR-UGC norms.

Ans. Through the SBI Collect website. Please note the mentioned Journal number, date of remittance and also the SBI branch number in which the application fee was paid. You will need to fill in this information in your application form.
