What I Liked

1. The quality of the faculty is just way too good, they one of the leading researchers of their domain
2. The scope of doing extra curricular activities is very high
3. The curriculam is very advanced, this equip us doing high end research works after graduation

What I didn’t like

1. The academic pressure is intense, sometimes it is too much to cope up with
2. The peer pressure of securing a good phd or getting internship at a renowned lab is very high

Course Curriculum Overview:

This college mainly focuses on developing interest on research works and academic pursuits. The course work is very hectic and heavy. We are introduced to topics that are generally of doctoral levels in order to get ourselves prepared for the research works. The academic life here is quite flamboyant as we get to explore much more things apart from formal studies. Being a college where multidisciplinary studies are always promoted, it becomes easy for us to get exposure of different research work of different domains. The faculties are one of the best in their respective domains in the nation. All of them are highly qualified with Phd and multiple Post Doctoral research experiences from abroad. Some of the faculties are alumni of esteemed universities like University of Cambridge, University of Oxford etc. The teaching method is also a bit different, they focus on more to create research interests in students than mugging up the concepts. The term exams occurs twice a semester.

IISER BHOPAL - ONE OF THE BEST COLLEGES IN THE COUNTRY

What I Liked

Campus is big spacious clean and beautiful. Faculty is helpful and well trained and professional. Infrastructure is very good, labs are well equipped.
Campus life is very enjoyable with frequent events, plenty opportunity to have fun in campus.

What I didn’t like

Many places are still under construction.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course focuses on all fieldds of natural sciences, more tending towards research. Faculty is highly qualified and experienced, often with abroad experience in PhD's and Post Docs. Are helpfull in their respective subjects. Term exams are conducted at the mid and end of each sem. At the same time for all batches. Difficulty level and sem, exams, is easy, but includes syllabus from outside textbooks.

My thoughts on IISERB.

What I Liked

the greenery is extremely beautiful and well maintained.
the campus is vast and feels never ending.
The various labs here do a lot of cutting edge research which is always fascinating to see.

What I didn’t like

the campus is too far off from any urban centre and public transport is super expensive.
there used to be night canteen earlier but they now removed it and put up vending machines everywhere.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Coursework is pretty hectic, especially the first semester which only lasts 3 months and covers a syllabus mean for 4 months. The faculties are highly qualified individuals with PhDs and several post docs from famous foreign universities.

Introduction to IISER Bhopal

What I Liked

Infrastructure is great, labs are also great having all required equipments, and also access to specialized facilities.
Location! Campus is in a very green location, and being a bit far from bhopal city there is no problem of city noise and pollution.

What I didn’t like

Nothing much to dislike, except that sometimes the location although great, it provides somewhat less accessibility to city.
Sometimes, the large number of courses can be a bit hectic. Perhaps 1st year students should be provided with more flexibility.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as it is quite different from the traditional BSc. or MSc. course. BS-MS is more research oriented, and a clear example is that the final(5th) year of the degree doesn't consist of any coursework, only the master's thesis. All faculty are highly qualified, postdoc completed at minimum and years of experience. The teaching methods differ with the course instructor, but most of the professors are great at teaching, also easy to approach and friendly. The term exams are held strictly accordingly to the timing, and there is no issue whatsoever with syllabus completion, everything is taught at the correct place while also ensuring completion. Term exam difficulty also depends per course and instructor, but generally is moderate level of difficulty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I wanted to further do Masters and Research in this field and this will act as a stairs to reach that. Most of the professors are highly qualified (most of them are PhD holders), mostly interested in research works. The semester duration is of 4 months and in these 4 months; the mid semester exams is generally taken in the months of February end and September end for Spring and Fall Semester respectively. The end semester exams are taken in the months of April end and November end in the Spring and Fall Semester respectively.

Reviewing IISER Bhopal

What I Liked

Faculty here is amazing and helpful, they are always willing to help.
Infrastructure is also very good with all kinds of facilities.

What I didn’t like

The downside would be the placement, if someone just comes here for placement might get disappointed.
The hostel rooms are a bit small, although not much of a issue.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Engineering science course here, felt unique to me. The curriculum is a bit different from traditional B.Tech one but still better than many other institutes. The faculty here is top notch, most of them having done Post Doctorate from foreign institutions including Max Plank, Oxford, University of California, etc. Most of the faculty teaching method is very student friendly, they always welcome questions and love solving doubts. One can also approach them after the classes for further clarification of the topic. Exams happen on a very regular basis, there are Quiz, then mid term and then the end term. One needs to consistently perform in all of them to get good grades.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is studying all basic science subjects for everyone including maths and biology for the whole batch irrespective of interest in it for the first two semesters, engineering students have elective of choosing bio/eco for the first two sems, in second year choose 3 subjects and in the 3rd year choose 1 subject as a major, faculties are really good and qualified, but some professors of physics and datasxience department are really saddists.

Collage is the whole another world

What I Liked

It is very good. Library facility is very good. And campus is very good
Campus life is very good it mostly depends from people to people.

What I didn’t like

I just dislike the rule of clg like we cant operate many thing after 10pm in our collage and for any proposal there is so much documentation here.
And one major things is all here are so much selfish no one helps here in the bad conditions.

Course are good enough but not that for other branches because ilike i am in engineering science then also i am studying here earth science or some thing a basic physics which i have already studied in my 11th and 12th std.
