Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT), Jais, is an autonomous institution set up by the Government of India. It has been recognized as an Institution of National Importance through the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology Act 2007. Course 1: B.Tech

Duration: 4-year | Full-time
Seat Intake: 60 in each specialization
Eligibility: Candidates must have completed Intermediate with at least 60% marks. SC/ST/PwD candidates need 55% marks. Final selection is based on the candidate's JEE (Advanced) score.

Course 2: M.Tech

The institute offers M.Tech in two disciplines: Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering.

Duration: 2-year | Full-time
Seat Intake: 30 in each discipline
Eligibility for Regular Category: Applicants must have a B.Tech/B.E. degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% marks. SC/ST candidates require 55% marks. A valid GATE score is also required.

Admission in Sponsorship Category: Sponsored category candidates need to qualify in a subject-wise written test or interview. A GATE score is not required for this category, but such candidates are not eligible for financial help from the institute. The candidate must have worked with the sponsoring organization for at least two years and must submit a No Objection Certificate along with leave approval for one year.

Selection Procedure: Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Shortlisted candidates must appear for a written test and personal interview. Final selection is decided through performance in these stages, GATE score and previous academic performance.

Course 3: MBA

The Department of Management Studies offers the MBA program with specialization areas such as Energy Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management and Human Resources Management.

Duration: 2-year | Full-time
Eligibility:

  • Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in 10th and 12th from a recognized board.
  • A bachelor's degree with 50% marks from a UGC/AICTE recognized university is required.
  • Final selection is based on the candidate's GMAT/XAT/CAT/CMAT score.
  • Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements and holding a valid CAT/XAT/CMAT score can apply.

Selection Procedure: Candidates are short-listed using the following criteria:

  1. CAT/XMAT/CMAT/GMAT score: 50%
  2. Academic performance: 20%
  3. Work Experience: 5%

Short-listed candidates are called for a written ability test (WAT) and Personal Interview. Final selection is based on the total score obtained by the candidate. Separate merit lists are prepared for candidates from the General Category, Scheduled Caste Category, Scheduled Tribes Category, OBC Category and Physically Handicapped Category.

Course 4: Ph.D.

RGIPT offers Ph.D. programs in different fields of Engineering, Science & Social Sciences and Management.

Eligibility: Candidates must have a master's degree in a relevant discipline and a qualified score in GATE/NET. Final selection is based on scores in GATE/CSIR/UGC/NBHM/DBT/GPAT/Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship/Maulana Azad National Fellowship or any similar fellowship.

Selection Procedure: Short-listed candidates must appear for a written test followed by presentation/viva-voce conducted at the institute. The final merit list is based on GATE score, marks obtained in the written test and previous qualifying examination.
