IIIT Lucknow Admission Dates 2027

The 2027-28 admission cycle is expected to begin with registration for the January session of JEE Main 2027. JoSAA counselling for B.Tech admission will open after the JEE Main 2027 results. GATE 2027 is expected to be held for M.Tech applicants in February 2027.

IIIT Lucknow Courses and Fees

Computing and information technology form the main focus of the B.Tech courses at IIIT Lucknow. The institute also runs postgraduate programmes in engineering, digital business, data science, economics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, along with doctoral study in three fields.

The CS and Artificial Intelligence track and the CS and Business Systems track combine basic computing subjects with their respective specialisations. The MBA in Digital Business brings together technology, management, and business operations.

IIIT Lucknow Admission Process

Selection at IIIT Lucknow depends on the programme. B.Tech applicants enter through JEE Main and JoSAA, while postgraduate and doctoral applicants follow the relevant national test and institute-level selection process.

B.Tech Admission

1. Applicants must complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and secure at least 75% marks. The minimum is 65% for SC and ST applicants.
2. They must take JEE Main. When both sessions are attempted, the better score is considered.
3. Qualified applicants participate in online JoSAA counselling, including choice filling, seat allotment, online document verification, and reporting. JoSAA manages JEE Main-based admission for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.

M.Tech Admission

1. Applicants must have a valid GATE score, with preference given to the CS and IT discipline papers.
2. The institute shortlists candidates for its written test and interview.
3. Final selection is made for the 60-seat M.Tech programme in Computer Science and Engineering.

MBA and M.Sc Admission

1. MBA applicants need a graduation degree with at least 60% marks and must submit a CAT or GMAT score.
2. Shortlisted MBA applicants attend a group discussion and personal interview.
3. M.Sc applicants require a relevant undergraduate degree in the chosen discipline. Selection uses JAM or CUET-PG scores followed by the institute-level process.

IIIT Lucknow Cutoffs

The General category closing ranks from JoSAA counselling in 2025 show the level of competition for IIIT Lucknow's computing programmes.

The Computer Science and Business Systems programme generally records a similar cutoff range. Actual closing ranks can change with the number of applicants and the available seat matrix.

IIIT Lucknow Placements

IIIT Lucknow recorded strong placement results among PPP-model IIITs in 2025. Eligible students achieved a placement rate of 96.17%. The B.Tech average stood at INR 33.71 LPA, and the top package was INR 1.45 CPA. Amazon, Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Samsung, Zomato, and Rubrik recruited during the season.

The Computer Science and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence branches regularly receive the highest offers. Product companies and startups account for many offers in the upper package range. Infosys, TCS, and Wipro also recruit students, generally for service-sector IT roles with lower package bands.

MBA in Digital Business graduates move into technology-supported business positions. M.Tech students mainly take research and senior engineering roles with leading IT companies. Employers in analytics and artificial intelligence increasingly seek M.Sc graduates from Data Science and ML-AI.

IIIT Lucknow Campus and Infrastructure

IIIT Lucknow occupies a 50-acre campus at Chak Ganjaria. The ring road network connects it with central Lucknow and Lucknow International Airport. Its facilities support a residential academic environment.

Students have access to computing laboratories with high-speed internet, sports courts, a student activity centre, a cafeteria, and a central library that provides digital access to academic journals. Separate on-campus hostels are available for male and female students. Room and mess facilities are included in annual charges of up to INR 80,980 for male students and INR 58,500 for female students.

Research facilities support work in deep learning, natural language processing, information security, and distributed computing. TCS is an industry PPP partner of IIIT Lucknow and contributes to curriculum input and placement activities.

IIIT Lucknow vs IIIT Kottayam vs IIIT Una

IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Kottayam, and IIIT Una have similar B.Tech intake levels and attract applicants from overlapping JEE Main rank bands. IIIT Lucknow and IIIT Kottayam were established in 2015, while IIIT Una began in 2014.

Among the three institutes, IIIT Lucknow offers a wider programme mix because its courses include MBA and M.Sc in addition to B.Tech and M.Tech. Its location in a metro city also supports access to internships and industry exposure. All three operate under the PPP model and serve applicants with comparable JEE Main rank profiles.
