Mysore Medical College, popularly known as Government Medical College is the oldest and the first medical college established in 1924. MMC was the only medical college in Karnataka till the year 1952. It was the 6th or 7th medical college in India of that time. 

It holds a unique distinction of being the first medical college with a princely state in the pre-independence era. Mysore Medical College is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. 

The college offers 15 courses in 5 streams namely Medical, Science, Dental, Pharmacy, Paramedical and 4 degrees – MBBS, MD, MS (Surgery), BDS.

Mysore Medical College: Placements

  • After completing MBBS from Mysore Medical College, students can take their 1-year internship in the college hospital itself or try for other hospitals.
