The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), Hyderabad, Telangana was established in 1919 and is managed by ICMR. The institute conducts research on nutrition and public health in collaboration with Rockefeller University, Washington University, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the U.S. and the University of Wollongong in Australia.

NIN is famous for its MSc program in Applied Nutrition and Sports Nutrition. Admission to these courses is based on the AP-PGMET entrance score.

NIN Hyderabad Placements 

NIN, Hyderabad has a Placement Cell that looks for Internships and Job Opportunities for Students. Internships are provided as part of the Post graduate Programs in the Second year. The internships are aimed at providing a clinical exposure to the field and gaining some practical experience. No stipend is provided to Students.

Students are placed as a Clinical Dietitian, Management Dietitian, Consultant Dietitian, Nutrition Research Scientist and such. Students can also become Junior Research Fellows and get The job role of doing research, conducting research-related development activities, publishing scientific work and its results and so on. Along with Junior Research Fellowship Students are also involved in pursuing a PhD programme. 

NIN Hyderabad Scholarships 

JRFs and SRFs qualified students from ICMR, UGC, DBT, DST, CSIR etc. and willing to pursue PhD programs under the guidance of NIN scientists can register with the universities that recognise NIN as a study centre and pursue their research in NIN. Guidance is offered in various areas of nutrition research like nutritional biochemistry, epidemiology, clinical studies, food chemistry, food safety and microbiology, molecular biology, social and behavioural sciences in health, biostatistics and so on. 

NIN also offers fellowships to two toppers of its MSc (Applied Nutrition) programme for helping them pursue PhD.

Candidates will have to visit the Institute on the date notified in Notice with all educational certificates, fellowship qualified correspondence along with caste Certificate, passport size photograph and Resume to the GD/PI.
