Lady Irwin College was established in 1931. Initially, the college was funded by the All India Women’s Education Fund Association and was under it till 1950. After 1950 the college got affiliated with the University of Delhi. Lady Irwin College is one of the best institutes that provide graduate and postgraduate courses in Home Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, etc. The college is a part of the University of Delhi.

The college gives BSc, BEd, B. Tech, PGD, PhD, and MSc courses in Food Technology, Home Science, Dietetics, and Nutrition.
