- The best was tha laboratories there were plenty of instruments and reagents do how many times you want and learn. The classrooms in the new building were really good fully furnished with smart board and ACs.
- Campus life is the best lots and lots of programs, good fest and peace as well. The college is like a picnic spot itself with lots of greenery and flowers.
Dislikes
- This college has a large population of home science students with only 2 sections of food technology, so there are some issues in the election as the majority is with them. Not a huge issue but it may effect someone who are interested in college elections
- Some faculties will not taught you upto the mark but this happens everywhere. But the main problem is will the language barrier with some faculties as they are from north east and their English was not very clear. So this makes her lecture less interactive.
Remarks :
I was initially searching for reputable colleges offering food tech programs when I learned about Lady Irwin College, which offers a 3-year BSc Hons in Food Tech. There were 3-4 other colleges in DU offering similar programs, but I preferred Lady Irwin because it ranked above all other options.During my college hunt I discovered that a lady in my neighbor had completed her BSc in food tech from Ramjas College, DU, and her MSc in food&nutrition from Lady Irwin itself. She provided valuable guidance throughout my admission & advised me to choose Lady Irwin over other . I enrolled in 2020 when admission was solely merit-based (with a cutoff of 92% in the first list), and an additional 3% was given to students who perused PCMB in their 12th. The admission procedure was entirely online due to COVID that year, which made enrollment easy.However, the admission process has now changed significantly. Applicants must now clear a common entrance exam (CUET) to be considered for the merit list.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because it is a technical degree which helps you develop skills for food industries and will offers more options in government sector as well like fssai, FCI etc. I had PCMB in my 12th and this course use all of your science and maths and makes things interesting. The course includes everything from machine operations, nutrition, chemistry thermodynamics and many more which doesn't seems related but will work out once you start from one end. The faculty were good every professor had a doctorate degree and some of them wrote their own books which are famous as well ( Dr.pulkit mathur ). Every professor had their own way of teaching some uses ppts, books & some will taught you on board. We had 2 exams in one sem (internals+externals). Internals could be assignment as well and externals were moderate level exam( 5 subjects). There were scholarship provided to some students i wasn't very aware of that. Well the fee seems worthy as there were 5 practical subjects.
Internships Opportunities :
In the 4th semester breaks I have done 1 month internship in mother dairy. It was a good and wholesome experience. They will make you aware of every unit of a dairy industry in a month only. So basically there 4 units (ice cream, milk, microbiology + packaging, quality assurance) so 1 unit per week. Best was the ice cream ???? yes you can have some while working just maintain cleanliness. The milk unit was entirely machine operated and you just have to keep a check on it. The quality assurance unit will make you work for real. You have to perform many tests but the staff was good overall . And the packaging and microbiology things were done my the employees only you can just learn there.
Placement Experience :
Placements after bachelors is a tough choice but college is not very active in this regards. Professor will help you grab internships in big industries like mother dairy, pepsico but placement are not provided. But now course has changed to 4 year degree in the last year which is optional you can work on your placement and develop some skills under the college itself. After BSc there is no much scope of high salaries, it will range around 2-3Lpa only. so go for higher studies if you can for hikes. I will prefer exploring government sector as they will pay you way better than private with a bachelor's degree. You can get a very reputed job as a food safety officer in fssai . Many of my friends opted for dietician and nutritionist as well . There are plenty of options in private and government sector.
Campus Life :
It is a girls college and off campus very close to Mandi house metro station. The campus is very peaceful and quiet. Full of Greenery and you can spot peacocks everywhere. There were 2 big loans, big canteen, auditorium, basketball court ( some scenes of Kabir Singh was from there). There is a new building specially for food tech students with smart AC classroom and huge Labs. An open library was also there u can get almost all books related to your course from there. DU Colleges are famous for cultural fest so as mine every year there is fest in month of April. Along with that there are many programs almost every month if you join any society. No burden of attendance, you can focus on other activities as well. The hostel is in the campus it self and it will cost you around 6000- 8000 a month including food. The environment outside is very safe and you can find many pgs as well.

The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.

I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Doing masters in political science from Daulat Ram college
Placement Experience :
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.

The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!

du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.

The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
