JMC Admission Process

UG Admission through CUET UG and CSAS

Admission to every undergraduate course is managed through DU’s Common Seat Allocation System. A student first takes CUET UG and then uses the CSAS portal to select preferred colleges and programmes.

  1. Complete 10+2 or an equivalent qualification from a recognised board and obtain a valid CUET UG score.
  2. Submit the CUET UG result through DU CSAS.
  3. Arrange the preferred colleges and programmes in order of priority.
  4. Wait for seat allocation through the merit-based admission rounds.
  5. Eligible Christian women seeking reserved-seat consideration must also submit the Christian interview form.

JMC is an aided minority institution and sets aside part of its intake for eligible Christian women. Other applicants receive seats according to the applicable CSAS merit and category rules.

PG Admission through CUET PG

Admission to MA English and MA Hindi depends on CUET PG scores. Applicants need a BA (Hons.) degree in the matching subject with at least 50% marks.

JMC CUET Cutoffs

Round 1 closing scores for General Category admission in 2025 differed across JMC programmes. SC, ST, OBC-NCL and EWS applicants had lower cutoffs, while Christian minority applicants were assessed through separate cutoff levels.

JMC Career Outcomes

JMC does not run a formal campus placement programme, a model also seen at many DU liberal arts colleges. Career support instead comes through the Placement Cell, alumni contacts within departments and the wider DU network of internships and mentorship opportunities.

Graduates enter public service, education, law, media, business and the social sector. English and Humanities students often explore journalism, publishing, corporate communications, IAS and other civil services. Psychology graduates commonly continue to MPhil or PhD study, undertake clinical training or work in corporate HR. Economics graduates frequently take CAT before pursuing an MBA at IIMs and other leading business schools.

Career PathwayCommon Programmes or Roles

The alumni community includes professionals in journalism, academics, politics and corporate fields. Graduate admission panels and employers in Delhi’s job market recognise the University of Delhi affiliation and the college’s NAAC A+ credential.

JMC Rankings

In the 2025 NIRF College Rankings, JMC stood at #85 and remained among India’s top 100 colleges. Its NAAC accreditation carries an A+ grade, based on areas that include teaching, research, student services and institutional values.

JMC Campus and Infrastructure

The JMC campus occupies a compact, well-maintained site in Chanakyapuri’s Diplomatic Enclave in New Delhi. Academic facilities include a library with RFID-based digital book management, upgraded in April 2026, an ICT-enabled computer laboratory and science laboratories used for B.Sc and B.Voc courses.

Thevenet Hall is the main venue for college events, while an open-air amphitheatre offers another gathering space. Students also have access to a gymnasium, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, a cafeteria and a medical room. JMC is a day college and does not provide a residential hostel on its campus.

JMC Scholarships

Financial support is available through central government schemes, University of Delhi programmes and assistance offered at the institution level. JMC has also been nominated for the Vidyalakshmi Scheme, which helps girl students from economically weaker sections seek scholarships and education loans.

JMC vs Lady Shri Ram College vs Gargi College

LSR has the strongest NIRF position, higher CUET cutoffs and a more prestigious alumni network. JMC differs through its Christian minority admission route, Chanakyapuri location and NAAC A+ status. Gargi College and JMC attract applicants from largely similar CUET score ranges. A student’s choice often depends on location, course availability and eligibility for the minority quota.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Psychology Honours because I have always been deeply fascinated by the subject and want to pursue this further by discovering its interconnectedness with the field of Business and Commerce. The faculty at JMC is top-notch, to say the least. They are highly qualified professors who are deeply knowledgeable regarding their specific courses and have particular ways of aporoaching topics that facilitate comprehensiveness. The end term exams were conducted according to the Delhi University guidelines and Time-Table. The difficulty level for most of the courses was easy to moderate. There are however, a few papers that are quite difficult to score in (for example: statistics). Apart from them, it is easy for one to score well if they prepare themselves thoroughly in advance.

Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell has a wide network and offers on campus placement to students. One can also look for internships through participation and networking in societies. The Placement Cell allows 2nd and 3rd year students to participate and assume positions in the society.

the curriculum is based on NEP 2020 which has a lot of benefits for the students. the syllabus is also from Delhi University and generally in JMC the faculty gives you access to at least 3 books for readings

Placement Experience:

there is an active placement cell and has companies like Deloitte and the other big four coming to it. PC also offers Internship opportunities occasionally. however the process is quite complex, so students generally prefer outside internship

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is outdated to be honest , they still expect us to write assignments in hard copy which takes a lot of time trust me and is a complete waste of efforts . The curriculum gets very rigorous because every semester we have to appear for Assignments , tests , viva , practical , theory exams for all the 7 subjects within very close proximity . The curriculum is very outdated , they should bring modern curriculum and way of teaching as used in other universities . And the faculty is mostly PhD's and mostly are christians since this is a convent college .

Placement Experience:

We do not get internships from our college , however we can find on our own And there are some competitions organised in various colleges of Delhi University including JMC where companies come and you can apply there if you want and you can avail internships from there . However , the placements are pretty decent with 30-40% batch gets placed at an average of 3-4LPA .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really wanted to pursue this course since 9th grade i found it very interesting. The faculty is very good at teaching they use ppts mostly which is like a good way. Exams are held timely and we get good amount of prep leave Between the exam like on an average 4 days holidays between the exams so it's easy to study.

Remarks:

I chose this college best it was one of the best colleges for psychology and this college was very close to my house which is an advantage. There were not interviews i think it's only for the Christian quota other wise you only have to give CUET. I did take coaching for the curt exam it helped mei for the general test part.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I pursued a ba course in psychology philosophy. Even though the philosophy factuly is average, the psych facility atleast during my time used to be outstanding. I even took courses in sociology and that is one under rated course for the college. The sociology professors are beyond amazing and their grasp over the subject is extraordinary. The professors are well qualified. The administration staff is quite polite towards individual students but can be a bit tricky if one is organising events or drives. They want the environment to be very still and have even cancelled fests because of controlling nature. Sometimes they can be conservative under the garb of being liberal. Know that no matter how it looks, in the end it's a catholic College. This goes for both professors and administration.

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell but I wanted to go for higher education so I didn't opt for it. The placement cell is average but if you are in economics or mathematics you can land a good job with it. There are also financial cells and stuff which can give an idea about buisness systems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is great as we study in variety, ge , aec, vac, sec subjects which gives us a option to study the subjects regardless of our dsc subjects . In ge hindi , English and if we have a combination of language then the different subjects paper are also offered such as nationalism in india from political science, social psychology from psychology, museum and museology from history. The aec subject is EVS for one semester and Hindi for another, alternatively. These subjects enhances a student core knowledge to attend any future exams . Apart from this we have sec ( skill enhancement curriculum) which offers the papers like creative writing, yoga in daily life, museum and museology, sports, literature, constitution, etc. Another one is vac ( value additional curriculum) it offers the papers like intro to indian constitution, finance, digital marketing, fashion designing. So these are so important as they enhances good skills and knowledge in a student.

Placement Experience:

Yes , we do have placements and job opportunities. I'll think about it . Because I'm a first year so I don't have much knowledge about this . But from b.el.ed the students get the placements in schools like dps , ryan with a package of 50000 max

I chose this course because my interest lies in this. Also the curriculum is good till now. The teachers are nice and helpful and they teach us well. Sometimes they also teach us very practically like they take us out and all, its very refreshing.

Remarks:

I chose this college because it was a DU college and a good one at that, so the prestige was obviously a factor. It offered a course which matched my preference perfectly so that was a plus point. I researched a lot and hence i put it on top for my cuet preference list. The cut off for hons courses are a bit high but you can get in BA prog if you were down by 10-15 marks. The college is great, campus is amazing. Its a girls college yes but honestly its super fun and most of the girls are amazing. The teachers are very nice too. Can get a bit uncooperative sometimes but in the end its all manageable and worth it for me.
