Hindu College Admission Dates 2026

Hindu College follows the central admission schedule of the University of Delhi. UG admission for 2026-27 is based on CUET UG 2026 scores and DU CSAS. PG admission is based on CUET PG 2026 scores and the DU postgraduate admission portal.

Hindu College Courses and Fees

Hindu College has 17 UG Hons programmes, 13 PG programmes, and 8 certificate programmes in humanities, sciences, and commerce. The stated fees include both DU-level and college-level charges. BA (Hons) and B.Com (Hons) cost INR 4,15,359 for 3 years, while science B.Sc (Hons) fees range from INR 2,80,875 to INR 4,24,359 for 3 years.

The newer certificate options in Machine Learning and Public Policy run along with language certificates in French, German, Russian, and Spanish. DU and Hindu College students can use these courses to add skills outside their main degree.

Hindu College Admission Process

Hindu College uses the University of Delhi CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System) for UG admission. Students do not apply separately to the college, and there is no college interview or separate test. DU gives seats through the central portal on the basis of CUET UG scores. For PG courses, admission is based on CUET PG scores through the DU postgraduate admission portal.

UG Admission (BA Hons, B.Sc Hons, B.Com Hons)

For UG Hons courses, students must pass 10+2 from a recognised board. Since 2022, CUET UG scores have replaced percentage-based cutoffs as the admission basis. Students register on the DU CSAS portal, choose their preferred courses and colleges, and get seats according to CUET subject scores and merit rank. BA (Hons) Political Science and BA (Hons) Economics usually have some of the highest cutoffs across DU colleges. In CSAS 2025 Round 1, the General Category cutoff for BA (Hons) Political Science was 951 out of 1000.

B.Sc (Hons) Admission

B.Sc (Hons) in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, and Electronics requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, or Biology for life science courses. Merit is decided by CUET UG scores in the relevant science subject. B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics and Statistics need strong Mathematics performance in CUET UG. Statistics was highly competitive, with a 848 cutoff in CSAS 2025 Round 1.

PG Admission (MA, M.Sc, M.Com)

For all PG subjects, Hindu College uses CUET PG scores. Applicants need a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject. After CUET PG results, the DU PG admission portal allots seats in constituent colleges, including Hindu College, on the basis of subject-domain scores and merit rank.

Certificate Programmes

Certificate courses in languages and new fields such as ML and Public Policy are open to registered students of Hindu College or the wider DU system. Admission is given on a first-come-first-served basis at the start of each academic year.

Hindu College Placements and Career Outcomes

The Hindu College Placement Cell helps UG and PG students take part in campus recruitment. Economics, Commerce, Political Science, and science students are among the main groups that use placement support. Recruiters include media organisations, law firms, consulting firms, financial services companies, corporate companies, and public sector organisations. Many students also choose higher studies and competitive examinations after graduation.

Civil services is one of the best-known career routes for Hindu College graduates. Many IAS, IPS, and IFS officers are alumni. English and Hindi graduates often move into journalism, publishing, and media, while Economics and B.Com (Hons) graduates pursue CA, banking, and financial services. M.Sc students in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics often enter research programmes at IITs, IISc, and universities outside India.

Hindu College Rankings

Hindu College is ranked first among Indian colleges in NIRF 2025. Its score of 84.01 is the highest score recorded in the NIRF Colleges category since the ranking system began.

Hindu College has NAAC A++ accreditation, which is the highest NAAC grade given to educational institutions in India. The college takes part in NIRF through the University of Delhi. Its top NIRF score is supported by teaching-learning quality, research publications, and graduation outcomes.

Hindu College Campus and Infrastructure

Hindu College has a 25-acre campus at University Enclave, Delhi-110007, on the North Campus of the University of Delhi. Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station on the Yellow Line is within walking distance. Nearby North Campus colleges include St. Stephen’s College and Miranda House.

The central library has more than 1 lakh books and journals across different subjects, along with digital access to national and international databases. The science departments have laboratories for physics, chemistry, electronics, botany, and zoology. The college auditorium has seating for 900 people and is used for cultural festivals, seminars, and speaker events.

Hostel seats are limited. The boys’ hostel has space for 210 students, and the Smt. Indu Punj Girls’ Hostel has space for 156 students. This is against an enrolled strength of more than 3,000 students. Other facilities include a botanical garden, gym, cafeteria, health centre, and student union building. Notable alumni include Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali.

Hindu College Scholarships

Hindu College students can apply for scholarship schemes run by the central government, Delhi government, and DU. Most schemes ask students to apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or the DU scholarship portal by October each year.

Hindu College vs St. Stephen’s College vs SRCC

Students applying to DU often compare Hindu College with St. Stephen’s College for BA and B.Sc courses, and with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) for B.Com and Economics. These three colleges are among the most preferred DU institutions and usually have very high CUET-based cutoffs in their main programme areas.

Hindu College has the lead in NIRF ranking and offers the widest mix of Arts, Science, and Commerce courses among the three. St. Stephen’s has a separate interview route for 50% of seats under its Christian minority institution framework, so its admission process is different from a fully CUET-merit route. SRCC is the strongest choice for Commerce and Economics Hons aspirants and is widely seen as the benchmark college for B.Com Hons in India. All three colleges are close to one another on the North Campus.
