One of the biggest factors was the fact that it had a really good crowd. The people are very accepting and liberal and the atmosphere is lively with a lot of society activity. My admission was merit based but now it has changed to cuet based. There are no interviews for general students but for specifically catholic students, they take an interview to determine the integrity before giving the quota admission. For this, one just has to give gernral information about one's faith. It is not a difficult round and can be satisfied quite easily if one is from the Cristian faith. The thing that attracted me to the college was the theatre society and the atmosphere. The campus itself is very beautiful and green with a great canteen and best chaat bhayiya. The professors are amazing but there is little to no political activity . If one likes an apolitical environment within DU, then this is the place for you.
I pursued a ba course in psychology philosophy. Even though the philosophy factuly is average, the psych facility atleast during my time used to be outstanding. I even took courses in sociology and that is one under rated course for the college. The sociology professors are beyond amazing and their grasp over the subject is extraordinary. The professors are well qualified. The administration staff is quite polite towards individual students but can be a bit tricky if one is organising events or drives. They want the environment to be very still and have even cancelled fests because of controlling nature. Sometimes they can be conservative under the garb of being liberal. Know that no matter how it looks, in the end it's a catholic College. This goes for both professors and administration.
No internship opportunities was provided by the college. While there were some internship opportunities in the placement cell lost people joined it after their last year or got those opportunities by themselves. The college was mostly theory driven and people focused on getting good master's opportunities.
There is a placement cell but I wanted to go for higher education so I didn't opt for it. The placement cell is average but if you are in economics or mathematics you can land a good job with it. There are also financial cells and stuff which can give an idea about buisness systems
There are no merit based but need based scholarships. There are catholic scholarships as well as those provided by Delhi University. There are some army based scholarships which can also be availed. The fees would be around 13000-20000 per year. The fees over each year can also vary. 600 of which would be college fees, rest is library and other types of fees which you cannot get income tax returns on.
Life at campus is lively to say the least. It's a hub of fests and programmes. Everyone is fashionable and well spoken. The infrastructure is quite disability friendly and there are ramps everywhere. It is beautiful with autum leaves falling into the beautifully maintained flowers. The nukkad natak society is the best. Kahkasha was in my veins. You come a girl and become a woman here. I would highly recommend joining the council or societies. Because there is no political affiliation required for elections anyone can win. You'll make great friendships with fellow women. The crowd is also very LGBTQ friendly even though the professors might not be. Social life can be lovely here. Also it has a very big football field (with servral instances of it being used for helicopter landing). Lovely campus, lovely people, lovely social life.
There is no hostel facilities but one can try opting for DU hostels. The nearby living area is Satya niketan which is hell on earth. Live somewhere else. There are places near Anand Niketan which can accomodate students.
Placement at PGDAV college are average students who have good communication skills internships and extra certification usually gets better opportunities the placement cell is active and organise placement drives , workshops , resume building session and career building guidance student should not have any active backlog
PLACEMENT FOR BBA ARE AVERAGE WITH COMPANIES OFFERING ROLE IN SALES, MAREKTING, HR AND OPERATION. AVERAGE PACKAGE IS AROUND 3 TO 4 LAKH PER YEAR MANY STUDENTS ALSO PURSUE HIGHER STUDIES LIKE MBA TO IMPROVE THEIR CARRER OPPORTUNITIES.
The placement is good for students of commerce background and even many arts students get placement. But for science students, there are rarely any science background companies hiring as even as an intern. Many science students go for higher studies. So, Rarely science students get placement and if placed then not in company of science background.
I am as of in starting of 3rd year. The internship options are quiet really well. They give you many companies to apply in. .
I chose my course because I was interested in learning a business environment and management processes. Faculties are very well experienced and professional , and teaching methods are good. Term exams are held every 6 months and difficulty level is not very high .
Drc has a decent placement for bachelors students and cell is very active, invites companies like Amazon, Deloitte, ipac , accenture, etc and offers around 6-20 lac. But drc doesn't provide placements for master's students, though there are many external opportunities to grab in . Masters student do apply for internships in political and policy roles and even get placed in political consultancies and awarded with fellowships.
The placement opportunities are genuine, infact there is a dedicated placement cell in the college, companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC too participate in our placement fairs and students have actually got good placements!
du sol provides placement in news 18, aaj tak and job opportunities as according to the course of student pursuing. just visit to du sol north campus head quarter ask for the facility they will provide . bad thing is they dont provide on regular basis.
The placement cell is quite active. There are always placement and internship fairs every year and even other college students can join them. The placement recruiters are from top companies like Deloitte, KPMG, EY, etc. Although, not every one gets in these companies but then, there are other companies as well like Finshots, Voice Your Vichaar, etc. The average package is 3LPA and highest package is 8LPA.
