SMCH-the only medical college in Barak valley.

What I Liked

The best thing I like about the campus is tht there is warm and clean environment within as the campus is located in a hill region.
The faculties here are amazing and the campus life is outstanding .Lots of fests and sports events add to our campus life.

What I didn’t like

The only negative factor about the college is the connectivity.
The Barak valley has fewer mode of connectivity with the rest of Assam.

Placement Experience:

After completing mbbs course we r supposed to do an internship of 1 year in the hospital itself.After completing the internship everyone gets a government job as per the NRHM scheme in assam where u need to work in the rural areas for a year.

Remarks:

We had to appear in NEET exam tht is conducted by the NTA and accordingly the ranks are given with respect to the marks scored.After counselling we are allotted seats on the basis of rank .SMC is one of the prestigious and top college in Assam.

What I Liked

I like the bunch of experienced faculty members of my college
I also like the Infrastructure of class and hospital.

What I didn’t like

I don't like the hostel because they are very dirty
I also don't like the campus because too small.

Placement Experience:

After completion of 4.5 year of MBBS you will join in the own hospital as a intern doctor for one year with a salary of 37 thousands.after one year you will be posted in any hospital in any Village for one year with a salary of 50 to 55 thousand.

Remarks:

My college is very good as it has all the equipment available for our study. It has a very good bunch of faculty member. For addmission in my college you have to give NEET and if you are selected through councelling then you can take addmission. For that you have to take coaching from any institute.

SMCH a dream college.

What I Liked

1.I like the quality of treatment that it provides. 2.The campus atmosphere is cool.
2.Life in the college is fun with friends and seniors.

What I didn’t like

1. I dislike the infrastructure that are little old.
2.Faculties can be increased for better result

Placement Experience:

Assam provides the hight intership salary in the entire country. It gives 35.5K to its interns. Also doctor is never unemployed so yes...the opurtunities are high. My plan is to do another course i.e PG in any of my favorite field then do super speciality in tht particular field.

Remarks:

Entering in any medical college, one has to get selected through NEET exam. The college was establised in 1968 and is an old one so is more preferable.This college has one of the highest patient influx in the entore northeast. Cuttoff always differs year by year.For UR it was 579 this year.

Things you need to know about Silchar medical College

What I Liked

College infrastructure is still developing at a good pace
Campus is small but all the necessary facilities available

What I didn’t like

Small campus and developing which causes pollution
Hostel infrastructure is bad and the hostels are old

Placement Experience:

You have to pass the MBBS and do internship completion for getting placed. Placement are 100% once you complete degree. NHM does most of the recruitment. I plan to open clinic after MBBS. The highest package is 12,00000 per annum

Remarks:

This college was very close to my hometown. I didn't face any interview or group discussions. Only wrote for NEET exam to get the admission which is a national level exam. I also heard praise about this college from my relative
