Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences is located in Guwahati, Assam. SSUHS is the only Health University in the North Eastern Region of India. The University was established in 2009 under “The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Science Act, 2007”. SSUHS MBBS admission is based on the merit scored in the NEET UG.

SSUHS Guwahati Scholarship

Registered as Public/ Government University, Srimanta Sankaradeva University has provided a Scholarship amount to those students who scored good marks in University and a well meritorious student will get the amount of scholarship from the University.

If the student is meritorious, then the scholarship will be paid to cover whole course fee.
Students from minority communites are paid scholarships as per their performance in the last qualifying exams.
The state Government offers various schemes through which students from economically weak backgrounds can pay the course fees.

SSUHS Guwahati Facilities

Srimanta Sankaradeva University has various facilities available to help the needs of the students as well as faculty members and other staff. Some of these are as follows:

Library:The central library at SSUHS houses 1,20,000 books. The library subscribed to over 500 National and International medical journals. The students can also use library e-resources IEEE and J Gate.
Canteen: The Canteen on SSUHS campus offer healthy and delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The canteen also offers snacks, tea and coffee. Students can buy monthly pass to avail the canteen services on the campus.
Hostel: SSUHS offers seperate hostel for boys and girls on the campus. The hostel buildings come with a warden quarter, mecial store, separate mess, and an admin officer. The hostel rooms are well furnished and are provided with a hi speed Wi-Fi connection, first aid kits and other amenities.
Labs: There are 7 to 8 Labs departmental labs in the university. Each departmental lab is equipped with latest technology instruments.

SSUHS Guwahati Faculty

Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences is one of the best medical universities in Assam. The faculty at SSUHS are talented, qualified and are good at teaching their subjects. The faculty in every department make sure the students are taught well theoritically and through clinical training. There are 70 teaching staff across all departments and each department is headed by the Head of the Department.

Ques. What is the dress code for B.Sc Medical Technology students at SSUHS?

Ans.Students pursuing Medical Technology programs at SSUHS have to wear uniforms. Boys must wear off-white shirt, half sleeves in summer and full sleeves in winter with black formal trousers. Girls must wear off-white round neack kurta, full sleeve in winter and half sleeve in summer alomg with black color pyjamas. The students must also wear a black dupatta. In winters the students can wear dark grey color sweater. The students must also white color long laboratory apron with the name of the course emdrodierd on the left side of the apron.
