Dibrugarh University Courses and Fees

Dibrugarh University offers UG, PG, and doctoral courses in areas such as engineering, pharmacy, law, computer applications, management, science, humanities, commerce, social work, and tourism. Dibrugarh University Admission Process

Dibrugarh University follows different admission routes for professional courses, postgraduate programmes, and research degrees. B.Tech and B.Pharm use entrance scores or merit, while most postgraduate arts, science, commerce, management, computer application, social work, and tourism courses use DUAT. Since it is a state public university, admission is based on merit and not on donation or management-quota seats.

1. Students first choose the course and check the required eligibility, such as 10+2 PCM for B.Tech or a relevant UG degree for most PG courses.
2. For entrance-based courses, students appear for the required test, such as Assam CEE, JEE Main, DUAT, GATE, GPAT, CLAT, or the university PhD Entrance Test.
3. The university or counselling body prepares admission lists based on the accepted entrance score or qualifying examination merit.
4. Shortlisted students complete counselling, document verification, and fee payment as per the course rules.
5. Final admission is confirmed after the university verifies eligibility and receives the required fee.

B.Tech (DUIET) Admission

B.Tech admission at Dibrugarh University Institute of Engineering and Technology is divided between Assam CEE and JEE Main. Assam CEE fills 75% of seats in every branch through Assam state counselling, while JEE Main is used for the remaining 25% through a separate merit round.

The four B.Tech branches are CSE, ECE, Mechanical Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering. Each branch has 60 seats. Students must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and score at least 45%.

B.Pharm Admission

For B.Pharm, students need 10+2 with PCB or PCM. Selection is done through Assam CEE Pharmacy score or merit. The course runs for 4 years, includes a Pharmacy Practice specialisation track, and has a total fee of INR 2.21 Lakhs.

BA + LLB Hons (Integrated) Admission

The integrated BA + LLB Hons course is a 5-year law programme. Admission uses 10+2 merit along with CLAT score. Students from any stream can apply if they have at least 45% in 10+2.

PG Programmes (MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MSW, MTTM, MCA)

Most PG courses at Dibrugarh University admit students through the Dibrugarh University Admission Test, called DUAT. The test has subject-specific papers and is held for the university's teaching departments and some affiliated autonomous colleges.

Students need a relevant UG degree with at least 45% marks for most PG courses. MBA applicants need at least 50% in graduation.

M.Tech and M.Pharm Admission

M.Tech admission is mainly based on a valid GATE score. M.Pharm admission uses a valid GPAT score. For limited seats, students without GATE or GPAT may also be considered through DUAT.

Ph.D. Admission

Ph.D. admission is based on the Dibrugarh University PhD Entrance Test. Applicants must have a PG degree with at least 55%. Students with UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, or equivalent qualifications may get direct admission without taking the entrance test.

Dibrugarh University Campus and Infrastructure

Dibrugarh University has a campus of more than 550 acres at Rajabheta in Dibrugarh, eastern Assam. The campus is surrounded by tea gardens and is located about 12 km from Dibrugarh Airport and 6 km from Dibrugarh railway station.

The university has faculty buildings, a central library with print and digital resources, laboratories for science, engineering, pharmacy, and computing, an auditorium, a conference hall, a health centre, sports grounds, a science and culture park, canteens, and staff quarters. DUIET has separate modern laboratories for each engineering branch.

Hostel accommodation is provided separately for boys and girls. Hostel charges are INR 2,900 to INR 4,000 per year, not including mess charges. A guest house is also available for visiting faculty members and researchers.
