City engineering college basic review by student

What I Liked

Made my good friend with same mentality, and had some beautiful moments with friends
The college is not strict and we can simply go to all classes when we need.

What I didn’t like

Much more force and action needed to our academics
Teacher should complete all the lessons and modules compulsorily as many have passed through youtube.

Placement Experience:

I am final year and not even 1 company has come to our college for placement. Everyone guarantees for placement but not even 1 company has come , do courses from outside and join company in your own that's it , very poor placement

Remarks:

We enter the college because we got the college from KCET exam my cut off for 70000 in that exam when I got this college. For CS the cut off must be below 60000. This was this was the college which I got after writing exam when he was convenient to join as it was near kanakpura road.

What I Liked

the college cafeteria is pretty good with a wide range of menu
the social groups in the college are pretty decent.

What I didn’t like

the campus is very small with hardly 3 buildings which one cannot even call as a campus.
the crowd is not the hype one would expect.

Placement Experience:

again it's a tier 3 college so the job placements are not what one can expect. the curriculum first of all has a wide gap between what it's teaching and wha the industry wants so solely depending on what college is teaching is going to get you nowhere.

Remarks:

I was personally selected by taking the state level exam called KCET(Karnataka common entrance test). the colleges are alloted based on the scores and I got an average score so I was selected to this tier 3 college in 3rd round out of 4 rounds.

City Engineering College in a Nutshell

What I Liked

The infrastructure is mediocre with nothing spectacular but is decent enough for a college.
The faculty of the basic science dept and CSE dept are amazing. The lecturers are well qualified with unique teaching skills and make the subjects more interesting.

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure could be more vast with some point elements to attract the crowd. The campus is lacking in good cafeteria and buildings to explore.
The faculty of ISE and ECE dept is lacking in teaching skills.

Placement Experience:

To be blunt there are very less placement and job opportunities given it is a tier 3 college. One would have to work very hard to build their professional presence especially online through LinkedIn, GitHub, Twitter essentially. Participate in hackathons, ideathons, national level tech events, seminars and events organized by well known companies and make connections and always stay updated. Don't forget that "network is your NetWorth".

Remarks:

I personally was selected by this college through the state level exam KCET(Karnataka Common Entrance Test) which I took in may of 2023. There are levels of selection based on your rank. my scores were average so I got selected in the 3rd out of 4 rounds with the particular majors I wanted among the list of colleges I had entered. I had prepared very well by completely focusing myself for studies to take up the exam for 2 years prior the exam. But unfortunately my dad passed away at the beginning of the month may so I couldn't really get the scores I was capable of.

It is the best excellent college in city

Placement Experience:

I have a decent placement across the city and about eighty percent peoples with top multi national companies along with the best packages and also with excellent internships and also best recognised in top companies

I got this college in second round through KCET and good infrastructure and management of faculty even more good in environment and also decent placement in tier 2 college and good conversation with faculty with students

The best for attention

What I Liked

The teachers are approachable and individual attention by them
Campus life is good, not a huge campus but it does have A good environment

What I didn’t like

One thing I dislike is the seminar hall of the CS department

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty of CS department is very responsible Every student is given individual attention and any sort of negligence is not seen. The seniors are also approachable and equal importance is given to co curriculum and sports. No ragging or any such complaints

Remarks:

I actually joined by Management Quota for which they did look into my past records. But I’m not exactly sure if you would want to get into the KCET or COMEDK. They had no entrance exam for management quota students but they will definitely look into you performance in school and PUC.

What I Liked

The thing I like in my college is the way how faculties behave with the students .

What I didn’t like

Have nothing to dislike in our college so far

Placement Experience:

Being an fist Year student , i have no much idea about the placements , but as the provided information in the induction program the internship takes place I a well and regular manner without fail every year . The students do get placed in a good compines too .

Remarks:

This college was selected from my KCET counselling for the third round . Later on I took the admission with the procedures that were told to follow up . All the guidance for the admission was given by the office staff

Placement Experience:

Placement in our college is quite normal and only 60% of the students get placed every year and remaining 40% get placed off campus. The minimum package of the students placed is 3.5LPA and a minimum package of the students placed is 10LPA

Remarks:

This college was quite near my home as compared to other colleges and also fees concession was there. No interview or group discussion was conducted during the admission.I had the cutoff ranking as required for that college and I was provided fees on par with the CET fees
