GAT Bangalore Admission Dates 2026

GAT Bengaluru admits BE students through KCET 2026 for the Karnataka government quota and COMEDK UGET 2026 for the COMEDK quota. MBA admission is handled through Karnataka PGCET 2026. Counselling and allotment updates for the 2026-27 session are continuing.

GAT Bangalore Courses and Fees

GAT Bengaluru offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral study in engineering, technology, and management. Its BE degree has 9 specialisations. These programmes are affiliated with VTU and approved by AICTE. For most BE branches, the full 4-year fee is INR 9.40 Lakhs.

Hostel charges at GAT go up to INR 80,000 per year and are paid separately from course fees. The BE yearly fee of INR 2.35 Lakhs includes INR 2.15 Lakhs as tuition fee and INR 20,000 as other fees. MBA students can choose from Business Analytics, Finance, HR Management, Marketing Management, and Operations Management.

GAT Bangalore Admission Process

For BE admission at GAT Bengaluru, students must use their KCET or COMEDK rank. The college does not hold its own entrance exam. KEA conducts counselling for Karnataka government quota seats, while COMEDK handles the COMEDK quota through its counselling portal.

BE Admission Process

• KCET route: Students need Class XII with PCM and at least 45% aggregate. Karnataka SC/ST/OBC students need 40%. Government-quota seat allotment depends on the KCET rank issued by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
• COMEDK route: Students must have Class XII with PCM and at least 45%. Seat allotment under the COMEDK quota is based on COMEDK UGET rank. The eligibility rule is the same as KCET.
• Lateral entry: Diploma holders from a relevant engineering branch can apply for direct admission to the 2nd year through KLEA (Lateral Entry Admissions). Karnataka domicile is needed for government-quota lateral entry.

After a seat is allotted in counselling, students must report to the GAT campus for document checking. They need original 10th and 12th marksheets, transfer certificate, and community certificate for reserved categories.

MBA Admission Process

GAT Bengaluru uses Karnataka PGCET 2026 scores for MBA admission. Applicants must hold any bachelor’s degree with 50% aggregate, or 45% for SC/ST/OBC. KEA conducts PGCET seat allotment in several rounds. The MBA programme has five specialisations: Business Analytics, Finance, HR Management, Marketing Management, and Operations Management.

GAT Bangalore Placements

GAT Bengaluru has a placement cell connected with more than 200 industry partners. The institute has also signed over 100 MOUs with international and government organisations. Its 11-step training and placement process begins from the first year and includes aptitude work, soft skills, technical sessions, and mock interviews.

Students in recent placement drives received offers from IT services, product companies, and manufacturing firms. The highest reported package was INR 32 LPA. Across departments, placed students recorded an average CTC of INR 5.75 LPA.

GAT Bangalore Scholarships

GAT Bengaluru does not list a separate in-house merit scholarship plan. Students can apply for state and central government scholarships offered through the National Scholarship Portal.

Central government scholarship applications are submitted at scholarships.gov.in. Karnataka-domicile students should also check the Karnataka State Scholarship Portal for state schemes. Students who enter GAT through KCET government-quota seats may get Karnataka government fee reimbursement if they meet the relevant category and income rules.

GAT Bangalore Campus and Infrastructure

GAT is located at Aditya Layout, Rajarajeshwari Nagar (RR Nagar), in South-West Bengaluru. The campus has teaching blocks, a central library, and department-wise laboratories for engineering students, including specialist forensic and computing lab facilities.

The entrepreneurship cell has incubated more than 500 startups. Research work is supported through PhD centres in 3 departments. The institute’s network of over 200 industry partners and more than 100 MOU relationships with government and international organisations supports internships and placements.

Boys and girls have separate hostel facilities on or near the campus, with charges up to INR 80,000 per year. Rajarajeshwari Nagar is connected by BMTC buses and is nearly 15 km from MG Road in central Bengaluru.

GAT Bangalore vs NHCE vs Acharya Institute of Technology

Students applying through KCET or COMEDK often compare GAT Bengaluru with New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) and Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT). All three are private autonomous engineering colleges in Bengaluru with VTU affiliation.

GAT and AIT have close fee ranges. NHCE and AIT hold NAAC A+, while GAT has NAAC A, so accreditation may matter for some students. The three colleges usually draw recruiters from similar IT and core engineering sectors. Location can also influence choice, since the campuses are in RR Nagar, Marathahalli, and Soladevanahalli.
