BGS and SJB Group Admission Dates 2026

For the 2026-27 session, B.E. management quota admission is available at SJBIT. MBBS counselling is active through KEA for the state quota and MCC for the All India Quota. MBA and MCA counselling is also moving through Karnataka PGCET 2026.

BGS and SJB Group Courses and Fees

The group offers engineering through SJBIT, medical courses through BGS Medical College, and programmes in pharmacy and management on the same campus. The table below gives the total programme fees.

SJBIT runs B.E. in 8 branches. NBA accreditation applies to 4 UG programmes and 1 PG programme. BGS Medical College has 150 MBBS seats and offers PG medical education in 14 MD and 5 MS disciplines.

BGS and SJB Group Admission Process

Admission at BGS and SJB Group depends on the course and the institution chosen by the student. For management and NRI quota seats, students can use apply.bgsgroup.org.

B.E. Admission (SJBIT)

For B.E., students must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 45% marks. SJBIT fills B.E. seats through these routes:

• Government Quota (KCET): This route is for Karnataka-domicile students. Seats are allotted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) through rank-based counselling
• All-India Quota (COMEDK UGET): Students from any state can apply through this entrance test. Admission depends on score, merit, and preference filling
• Management Quota: Students who do not get a seat through government or COMEDK allotment can apply directly through SJBIT at apply.bgsgroup.org
• Lateral Entry (DCET): Diploma holders can enter the second year of B.E. through Karnataka DCET

MBBS Admission (BGS Medical College)

BGS Medical College offers 150 seats for MBBS. Students need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with at least 50% marks, along with a valid NEET UG score. Seat sharing is as follows:

• State Quota (85%): Filled through Karnataka KEA counselling
• All India Quota (15%): Filled by MCC at mcc.nic.in
• NRI/Management Quota: Students must contact the college admissions office

MD and MS Admission (BGS Medical College)

PG medical admission needs a valid NEET PG score. KEA Karnataka PG medical counselling handles state quota seats. Clinical MD/MS disciplines include General Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, and Anaesthesia, and seats are filled on merit.

MBA and MCA Admission (SJBIT)

MBA and MCA applicants need a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. MBA admission accepts Karnataka PGCET, KMAT Karnataka, or MAT scores. MCA applicants must have studied Mathematics in their Bachelor’s degree. Karnataka PGCET rank-based counselling is used for admission.

BGS and SJB Group Placements

SJBIT’s Placement Cell reported 95% placements for the 2024-25 batch. The highest confirmed offer reached INR 32 LPA. More than 200 companies from IT, product, core engineering, and service sectors joined the campus placement drives.

TCS, Cognizant, IBM, Mindtree, and Tech Mahindra regularly recruit from SJBIT. The college has 80+ industry collaborations for internships, live projects, and pre-placement offers. SJBIT has also published 1,600+ research papers and holds 75+ patents.

BGS Medical College does not follow the regular campus placement model used by engineering colleges. MBBS graduates usually prepare for NEET PG for MD/MS admission or work in government or private hospital practice. MD/MS students get stipends as per Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences norms.

BGS and SJB Group Rankings

SJBIT appears in the 151-300 band of the NIRF 2023 Innovation category. The institute also has NAAC A+ Grade with CGPA 3.46, while NBA accreditation covers 4 UG and 1 PG engineering programme.

BGS and SJB Group Campus and Infrastructure

The BGS Health and Education City campus stands on Dr. Vishnuvardhan Road, Kengeri, Bengaluru 560060. The same integrated campus includes SJBIT, BGS Medical College, BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital with 1,000 beds, a pharmacy college, and residential facilities in west Bengaluru.

SJBIT has 13 departments and provides laboratories, a library, seminar halls, and innovation centres for research work. The institute has 90+ funded research projects and 5 research centres that support PhD programmes in 10 specialisations.

Hostels are available separately for boys and girls. The yearly hostel fee ranges from INR 90,000 to INR 1,00,000. The Kengeri campus is connected to central Bengaluru through Kengeri Metro Station on the Namma Metro Purple Line and BMTC buses, with Majestic/Yeshwanthpur about 25 to 30 minutes away.

SJBIT vs CMR Institute of Technology vs Dayananda Sagar

Students applying through KCET and COMEDK often compare SJBIT with CMR Institute of Technology and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. All three are private VTU-affiliated engineering colleges in Bengaluru and offer similar programme choices and fee ranges.

SJBIT stands out because it is part of the BGS Health and Education City campus and has an attached teaching hospital, which supports both engineering and medical education. Dayananda Sagar has been operating for a longer period, since 1979, and has a strong alumni network. CMR Institute of Technology is located on Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road near the IT corridor.
