RRCE Admission Dates 2027

The schedule for the 2027 admission cycle is tentative and follows the pattern of earlier years. KCET applications are expected at the beginning of 2027, followed by the examination in April. COMEDK UGET is likely to follow a similar annual schedule.

Each of RRCE's nine BE branches accepts KCET and COMEDK UGET scores. Applicants seeking direct admission through the management quota may also use JEE Main scores. Karnataka PGCET and KMAT govern entry to the MBA and MCA programmes.

RRCE Courses and Fees

RRCE runs nine BE specialisations together with other undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. The eligibility conditions, duration, and total general-quota fees for its main programme groups are listed below.

Technology-based subjects form a major part of the BE portfolio. These include AI and ML, IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain, and Computer Science and Design. The NBA accreditation held by the CSE, ECE, and ISE departments provides an external quality standard for these three branches.

RRCE Admission Process

Admission requirements vary by course. Entrance-exam ranks determine BE, MBA, MCA, and M.Tech admission, while BBA and BCA selection is based directly on 10+2 performance.

BE (Bachelor of Engineering)

RRCE fills BE seats through two main admission routes:

• Government-seat route through KCET: Students first qualify for KCET and register on the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) portal. They then enter their preferred colleges and branches. KEA assigns seats according to rank and category. The allotted seat is confirmed after document verification and payment of the required fee.
• Management and NRI-seat route through COMEDK and JEE Main: Students with COMEDK UGET scores participate through the COMEDK counselling portal. Those using JEE Main scores can approach the college for direct admission under the management quota.

Applicants must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a combined score of at least 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The minimum is 40% for SC and ST students. Diploma holders and B.Sc graduates can seek lateral entry into the second year of BE through Karnataka DCET.

MBA and MCA

MBA and MCA selection uses Karnataka PGCET, KMAT Karnataka, and CMAT. Any recognised bachelor's degree meets the academic requirement for MBA. For MCA, students must have studied Mathematics either in 10+2 or during their undergraduate course.

M.Tech (CSE) and PhD

M.Tech applicants need a BE or B.Tech qualification in a relevant engineering branch and a valid GATE or Karnataka PGCET score. For PhD admission, the college conducts an entrance test followed by an interview under VTU regulations.

BBA and BCA do not require an entrance examination. Admission to both programmes is offered directly on the basis of 10+2 marks.

RRCE Placements

Since its establishment, RRCE Bangalore has recorded more than 1,800 cumulative placements. In the latest season, employers selected 204 of 329 graduating undergraduate students, giving a placement rate of 62%. Undergraduate offers reached a high of INR 12 LPA, and the average package was INR 5 LPA. Among postgraduate students, the highest and average packages were INR 6 LPA and INR 4 LPA, respectively.

Most participating employers represented IT services, embedded systems, and manufacturing. Major IT firms recruited from the CSE and AI and ML branches, while manufacturing companies hired students from the EEE and Mechanical branches.

The reported 62% placement rate mainly represents engineering programmes. Students preparing for higher studies or examinations such as GATE, GMAT, and UPSC are excluded from this figure. RRCE is working to bring more recruiters for branches outside CSE.

RRCE Scholarships

Eligible RRCE students can apply for scholarship schemes funded by the central and Karnataka governments. A dedicated college scholarship cell helps them complete applications through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Recipients of centrally sponsored scholarships must submit a renewal application on the NSP portal every year. Duplicate submissions are not accepted, and students need to apply within the deadlines set for each scheme.

RRCE Campus and Infrastructure

RRCE has an enclosed campus at Kumbalgodu on Mysore Road, 15 km from central Bengaluru. The same site contains its academic departments, administrative offices, student accommodation, and support services.

Boys and girls have separate hostels supervised by resident wardens. Furnished rooms with attached bathrooms can be chosen on an individual or shared basis. Hostel services include on-call medical assistance, generator backup, water coolers, laundry facilities, and a modern mess with dining halls.

Students have access to a central library, seminar halls, an auditorium, and equipped laboratories supporting the NBA-accredited CSE, ECE, and ISE departments. College buses run on routes serving important areas of Bengaluru. The institution's quality management systems carry ISO 9001:2015 certification.

RRCE vs New Horizon College of Engineering vs Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering

RRCE, New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE), and Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) are autonomous Bengaluru engineering institutions affiliated with VTU. All three use KCET and COMEDK UGET scores for admission.

Like NHCE, RRCE has a NAAC A+ grade. It also offers newer technology branches in AI and ML, IoT, and Robotics. NHCE and DSCE have been operating longer and therefore have larger established alumni networks. DSCE holds NBA accreditation across more departments. RRCE's Mysore Road campus can be convenient for students living along that road or elsewhere in South Bengaluru.
