Sir MVIT Courses and Fees

Sir MVIT offers 13 B.E. branches with a sanctioned intake of 1,140 seats. It also runs 5 M.Tech specialisations, MBA, and MCA. Fees differ by course and branch. Computing and new technology branches have the highest fees, while Civil, Mechanical, EEE, and E&TC have lower fees.

Among undergraduate courses, Data Science and CSE fall in the premium fee range. B.E. (E&TC) at INR 6 Lakhs and B.E. in Civil, EEE, and Mechanical at INR 12 Lakhs are the lowest-fee B.E. options. At the postgraduate engineering level, M.Tech costs INR 1.88 Lakhs for the full course.

Sir MVIT Admission Process

Sir MVIT B.E. admission is mainly done through KCET for Karnataka state quota seats and COMEDK for management quota seats open to all-India applicants. Students must qualify in the entrance exam that matches their admission route.

B.E. Admission

For government quota seats, Karnataka-domicile students need a valid KCET 2026 rank from KEA. They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2 and scored at least 45% in aggregate. For management quota seats, students need a valid COMEDK score. NRI candidates can apply directly under the NRI quota.

CSE, Data Science, and AI/ML seats usually fill faster because of higher demand. Students aiming for these branches through KCET need stronger ranks. For all 13 branches, COMEDK merit is used for management quota allotment.

MBA and MCA Admission

For MBA admission, graduates from any stream need at least 50%. Sir MVIT accepts KMAT Karnataka, CAT, MAT, CMAT, and PGCET scores. The MBA specialisations include Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, and dual-specialisation options. MCA admission is for BCA or B.Sc (CS/IT) graduates with 50%, based on PGCET or graduation merit.

M.Tech Admission

M.Tech applicants must hold a B.E. or B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55%. GATE-qualified students are preferred and may receive GATE scholarship benefits. Karnataka PGCET scores are also accepted. The available specialisations are AI and Robotics, Electronics, ECE, Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering, Construction Technology, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing.

Sir MVIT Placements

Sir MVIT recorded a highest package of INR 16 LPA from Kick Drum in 2023-24. In the same year, Target Inc offered INR 13.84 LPA and Amadeus Labs offered INR 11.77 LPA. The college received more than 200 offers in that placement cycle. For 2024-25, which was ongoing at the time of the update, 265 students had been placed and the highest offer stood at INR 15.73 LPA.

Across five years, Sir MVIT reported 4,388 total offers and 3,301 placements. The average placement rate was 94%. Recruiters seen across multiple cycles include Cognizant with 352 students, Accenture with 300, TCS with 265, and Wipro with 162. IT services and product engineering companies form the main recruiter group, while ECE and EEE students also see embedded systems and semiconductor firms. MBA students are placed in FMCG, banking, and business development roles.

Sir MVIT Campus and Infrastructure

Sir MVIT has a 133-acre campus in Krishnadevaraya Nagar, Hunasamaranahalli, on International Airport Road, Bangalore. The campus is 15 km from Kempegowda International Airport and is connected to Yelahanka and the outer ring road. It is located in a semi-urban area and provides transport facilities to Bangalore city.

The institute has branch-wise laboratories for computing, electronics, mechanical, civil, and biotechnology studies. Six M.Tech programmes and one Ph.D. research stream are backed by dedicated research labs. The central library provides e-resources and print journals. Hostel accommodation is available for students. Boys hostel fees range from INR 63,000 to INR 82,000 per year, while girls hostel fees range from INR 61,000 to INR 64,000 per year. The Placement and Training Cell runs a 7-phase soft-skills training module for final-year students.

Sir MVIT has produced 114 university rank holders in VTU examinations. Its DSIR SIRO classification supports research and innovation work in engineering and biotechnology fields.

Sir MVIT vs Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering vs New Horizon College of Engineering

Students comparing private engineering colleges in Bangalore often consider Sir MVIT along with Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) in JP Nagar and New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) in Marathahalli. All three colleges are private engineering institutions affiliated with VTU and admit students through KCET and COMEDK.

DSCE has a higher NAAC grade of A+ and autonomous status from VTU, which gives it more control over curriculum design. NHCE is located in Marathahalli, closer to the Electronic City and Outer Ring Road IT corridor, which can help students with off-campus hiring access. Sir MVIT has a much larger 133-acre campus on the Airport Road corridor, near the aerospace and manufacturing clusters around the Bangalore airport industrial zone. The three colleges attract many of the same KCET and COMEDK applicants.
