GCET Courses and Fees

GCET runs undergraduate engineering programmes in 8 branches, along with M.Tech and MBA courses. The four-year B.Tech fee is identical for every branch. Students pay INR 1,26,500 in the first year, including a one-time admission charge of INR 5,500, followed by INR 1,21,000 per year for the next three years.

No branch carries an extra B.Tech fee. CSE, AI and Machine Learning, and Data Sciences usually fill sooner because they attract the highest demand during TGEAPCET counselling. Diploma holders entering through Lateral Entry begin from the second year, reducing the course length by one year while paying the same yearly fee rate.

GCET Admission Process

GCET uses state-level counselling and direct applications, depending on the programme and quota. TGEAPCET centralised counselling allocates 70% of B.Tech seats, while the college directly fills the 30% management and NRI quota without requiring a TGEAPCET rank.

B.Tech Admission

  1. Complete 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Applicants need at least 50% aggregate in PCM, while reserved categories follow the lower limit allowed under Telangana rules.
  2. For a merit seat, register at tgeapcet.nic.in after the result is announced.
  3. Attend certificate verification and enter preferred colleges and branches through web options.
  4. Accept the allotted seat and complete the required admission formalities.
  5. For a management or NRI seat, submit Class 12 mark sheets directly to the GCET Admissions Office. The college selects students from their Class 12 performance and does not conduct another entrance test.

Telangana reservation rules cover OC, BC-A, BC-B, BC-C, BC-D, BC-E, SC and ST categories. Candidates belonging to the Telangana Local Area receive priority in counselling. Demand generally pushes the TGEAPCET cutoff higher for CSE and AI and Machine Learning. Students with a lower rank may have more opportunities in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and EEE.

M.Tech and MBA Admission

Applicants to M.Tech must hold a valid GATE or TS PGECET score and take part in Telangana PG Engineering counselling. During M.Tech seat allocation, GATE-qualified students are considered before those applying through TS PGECET.

Admission to MBA is based on TS ICET, which is the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test for MBA and MCA courses. An applicant must have a graduation degree in any subject and meet the minimum aggregate set by the TS ICET authority.

GCET Placements

The Training and Placement Cell manages recruitment at GCET. IT services form the main hiring sector, and confirmed recruiters for CSE, ECE, and AI and Machine Learning include TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys and Tech Mahindra.

Placement data note: GCET reports its own placement figures, and these have not been independently verified by NIRF or through an external audit. Salary packages can differ widely between branches and graduating batches. Students should confirm the figures with the GCET placement cell and recent alumni before using overall statistics to make a decision.

Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and EEE students receive opportunities from both IT employers and companies working in manufacturing or infrastructure. GCET's Keesara campus also provides access to Hyderabad's IT corridor and pharmaceutical manufacturing belt, which regularly support campus recruitment at private engineering colleges in this region.

GCET Scholarships

Students domiciled in Telangana can apply for the state's fee reimbursement programme, while eligible categories may also use central government schemes. Telangana TS ePass is the main application channel for state scholarship support.

GCET Campus and Infrastructure

GCET is situated in Keesara, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, Telangana, at a distance of 30 km from Hyderabad. Separate on-campus accommodation is available for male and female students. Hostel charges, including lodging and meals, range from INR 1,25,000 to INR 1,35,000 per year. Even the lower end of this range is higher than the annual B.Tech tuition fee of INR 1,21,000 charged after the first year.

The institution is certified under ISO 9001:2015 and has an A+ NAAC grade, while eligible undergraduate programmes are accredited by NBA. Autonomous status under JNTUH has allowed GCET to prepare its curriculum and hold its own examinations since 2016. The degrees, however, continue to be awarded through its JNTUH affiliation.

GCET vs Vardhaman College of Engineering vs MREC

Students using TGEAPCET to compare private engineering colleges near Hyderabad often consider GCET alongside Vardhaman College of Engineering (VCE) in Shamshabad and Malla Reddy Engineering College (MREC) in Hyderabad. Each is a private autonomous institution affiliated with JNTUH and accepts students through TGEAPCET.

Among these colleges, GCET has the highest NAAC CGPA and provides newer standalone B.Tech options in Cyber Security and Data Sciences. VCE may suit students travelling from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and Shamshabad corridor. MREC was established earlier, has a larger alumni network and is nearer to Hyderabad city limits, which some students value for internships and connections with industry.
